What People Are Saying About Savoy Tivoli

In Short – An open-air patio, dark wood bar, decorative statues and paintings give the space a European feel. Metal palm trees, obscure signs and knickknacks stand in funky bohemian contrast. There are two full bars, three pool tables and plenty of tables and chairs in this large gathering space. Waitresses are on the spot during slow nights, but getting a drink can be a challenge when it's busy. – –

Editor's Tips

Where to Sit:
Cigarette smoking is allowed in the patio space, but there's no cigar or pipe smoking.
Know Before You Go:
It seems a bit out of place, but there's a foosball table in the main room. Challenge your friends to a game.

fun place

by langl at Citysearch

I like this place, although at times it feels like it's filled with tourists or possibly just bridge and tunnel crowd. It's usually full, but not too crowded. Decent priced drinks, although its cash only so that sometimes is a pain. A few pool tables, lots of seating, a photo booth, overall a great time. On weekends they have live music during the day which is a good time too.

  • Pros: atmosphere, photo booth, location - grant st
  • Cons: cash only

Rude bar staff

by ellen_hardwick at Citysearch

I was really disappointed by the Savoy Tivoli, having read and heard good things about it. The barman was incredibly rude and condescending, and I found the atmosphere very unwelcoming. An unpleasant experience that I won't be repeating.

  • Pros: Old with plenty of character
  • Cons: Rude barman and rather loud crowd

Great Place

I love the setup and atmosphere here. It feels hidden being on Grant, but has a huge open area where you can sit sort of outside, but have heaters keeping you warm. Several pool tables and several bars so there's never a long wait for a drink. Will definitely be returning soon as we had a great time here.

Fun outdoor seating

I thought this was a great place to go with a few friends.... we sat outside and it was fun to do a little people watching. This is very close to home for me so I'm sure i will be stopping by again!

great spot

This bar is huge so even when there's a ton of people there you dont' fee too cramped. The staff is cool and the atmosphere is very cool. They have an entire out door area with heaters that is awesome to hang out in (especially if you smoke!) Drinks aren't too pricey and the bar is very fun. Will be returning whenever I'm in the city!
