Editorial Review for Savoy-Tivoli – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
An open-air patio, dark wood bar, decorative statues and paintings give the space a European feel. Metal palm trees, obscure signs and knickknacks stand in funky bohemian contrast. There are two full bars, three pool tables and plenty of tables and chairs in this large gathering space. Waitresses are on the spot during slow nights, but getting a drink can be a challenge when it's busy.

Where to Sit

Cigarette smoking is allowed in the patio space, but there's no cigar or pipe smoking.

Know Before You Go

It seems a bit out of place, but there's a foosball table in the main room. Challenge your friends to a game.

I like this place, although at times it feels like it's filled with tourists or possibly just bridge and tunnel crowd. It's usually full, but not too crowded. Decent priced drinks, although its cash only so that sometimes is a pain. A few pool tables, lots of seating, a photo booth, overall a great time. On weekends they have live music during the day which is a good time too.

Pros: atmosphere, photo booth, location - grant st

Cons: cash only

I was really disappointed by the Savoy Tivoli, having read and heard good things about it. The barman was incredibly rude and condescending, and I found the atmosphere very unwelcoming. An unpleasant experience that I won't be repeating.

Pros: Old with plenty of character

Cons: Rude barman and rather loud crowd
