In Short – Located in the heart of San Francisco's most-visited tourist attraction, Pier 39, this seafood restaurant pays homage to Hollywood blockbuster "Forrest Gump." The dining room is decorated with script pages, storyboards, costumes, still photos and other memorabilia from the famous movie. The menu focuses on seafood prepared Southern style, often fried or sauteed with sugar and butter. Entrees include popcorn shrimp, garlic shrimp, Alaskan king crab legs and a wide selection of fish.

Shockingly enough, the food was actually good!

Shockingly enough, the food was actually good!
We had the New Orleans shrimp and fried chicken and both were good. No way, right?
Well, they're not perfect. We also had the lava flow and somesort of Southern Comfort blend type drink and both were just expensive and tasted incredibly bad.
Wonderful memories

It's been so long since I've been there, but I'm a huge fan of the Forrest Gump
movie, so I was in 7th heaven! I don't remember what I ate, but we had to wait
very long for our food. I didn't mind, as I was looking at the memorabilia, and
the view was just fantastic! I would go back there again, just for those two
reasons.

fun place

Being a big fan of Forrest Gump, I just had to come here. Surprisingly enough, I didn't have shrimp. hehe. But I did steal some bites from my party's plates. It tasted pretty good too. I had cajun fried chicken and mashed potatoes, which were great. Our server was very attentive even when the whole place was very crowded. Overall, it was great experience. You guys from the LA area will be happy to know that there is a Bubba Gump's open at the Universal CityWalk. I know I am .
- Pros: all round good experience
- Cons: can get very busy
Be prepared to wait!

I only come here on weeknights anymore as the last time we tried coming here on a Saturday night, we were told the wait was almost 3 hours. I'm sorry, but that's insane. When I do eat here, however I like their shrimp dishes. I'd like to come back to try their crab dishes.
Just OK, not fabulous

You'll definitely come here for the movie stuff, not the food. It's only OK, and pretty overpriced, I thought. Our server messed up our order, and the people across from us, and they weren't even that busy. The view is good, though, if you sit near the back. You can see Alcatraz and the ocean and some pelicans and stuff, too.
- Pros: kinda fun once
- Cons: service wasn't good for a slow time of day
