What People Are Saying About Fiddler's Green

In Short – Guinness posters and black-and-white photographs of Ireland's countryside are displayed proudly in the downstairs dining room, where green wooden tables are situated near a central bar. During the day, mostly tourist and local couples come to eat a traditional Irish meal. In the evenings, the upstairs room fills with a mix of Europeans and casual professionals who let loose to pop tunes spun by resident DJs.
Editor's Tips
- When to Go:
- Resident DJs spin at 9:30pm (Friday-Saturday). There's never an admission charge.
- What to Drink:
- Along with hard alcohol, there's about 12 domestic and European beers on tap.
- Know Before You Go:
- A traditional Irish breakfast of Irish bacon and sausage, black-and-white pudding, fried eggs, mash, tomato and home fries is served all day starting at 9am.
New Owners bad for business.
by VStanton at Citysearch
We live in UT and have gone to San Fransicso for the past 15yrs. And every time we have gone to Fiddler's for a lunch or dinner. This time was the last. It obviously is under new owners/management. The waitress was inept, wrong orders, took forever...etc. Then (I'm assuming) the gray haired guy behind the bar is the owner. VERY rude when we asked for our bill after waiting a good 20 mins. He told us.."You have a waitress right? She'll get to you"...Nice. Too bad because the food is really good.
A Local Irish Breakfast Your Inner Anti-Tourist Can Handle
by Magic Westside , Citysearch Contributor at Citysearch
For the 15 years I've been in SF, nothing says Irish Breakfast quite like Fiddler's Green in the morning. Hey, that rhymes! Old school pub fare (like Sheppard's Pie)on a limited menu, with plenty of Irish whiskey on the walls for you to choose from. Whether you make this your off-Bay Street breakfast comfort food paradise (because all breakfast tastes better with Irish booze and snark), or just your destination for St. Patrick's Day--you'll be happy with the results (and very full).
- Pros: Stick to Your Ribs Bangers and Mash
- Cons: Near the Cannery and Warf; thus...Touristy.
SOOOO Friendly
by ronnagy at Citysearch
Love the low key atmosphere, especially in a high tourist area. Get there every March and enjoy the whole weekend, including breakfasts (I'll have the special breakfast-hold the food). Sharon, Paddy and Diane are so friendly you can't wait to return (and that's why I do).
- Pros: Prices and staff
- Cons: Sometimes too crowded
Nice spot to take the Chill off
by JoesPizza at Citysearch
Cozy and quick service, just be prepared to stand.
Would recommend but look out for the bums that walk in on cold
winter nights.
- Pros: Cold draft beers
- Cons: Small space
All around fun spot!

This is a great Irish bar that actually has delicious food as well! It's a fun place to drink and dance, but also to have a yummie breakfast or lunch. It's just a comfortable place to be. I was here recently for a private party and the room upstairs was the perfect spot! Everytime I come here I have a great time!
