view & uploadFun and a great deal. People either love or hate this place. We have been going there for years. We always have a fun relaxed time. Their full dinners are a great value. We love the music, kitschy decor. We and our friends have enjoyed some of the best/most expensive restaurants around and we enjoy this place for what it is. It's not the French Laundry and doesn't pretend to be. The food is simple and good. With this economy it's great to have someplace fun that's not $$$$.
This place needs to close down.
How you like to eat at a place that looks as if it hasn't been renovated since the 40's? I don't.
The antipasto plate was absolutely shocking. It looked as if they emptied out their refrigerator and pawned it off to me. So please don't eat there.
I went here with friends and we were really dismayed. No joke!
This place needs to close down. They don't even deserve one star.
Tasteless food, decent service. I went here for sunday brunch and the food doens't live up to the decor or service. Service was very attentive and almost formal. The soggy "fresh fruit" was on a bed of wilted lettuce, the eggs on the eggs benedict were over cooked and the hollandaise sauce was tasteless and clumpy, like it had been made the day before and warmed. I do not recommend this place.
Solid local establishment.
This place has been aournd for years, and considering the West Portal / Ingleside neighborhoods are in dire need of Euro-continental cuisine, I hope they continue to thrive. The menu is Northern Italian. The interior has an old fashion elegance, although in need of some minor sprucing up. The owner and staff made us feel welcome and comfortable with our 3-month old, even though this is really not a "family" restaurant (I don't recommend bringing kids, sorry to the other customers!). The clientele appear to be local and loyal, which is what I want in a neighborhood restaurant.
The food is pretty good. The seafood chowder was very tasty, NY steak was thin and a little chewy but the Veal Marsala was nice, however, the side pasta was dry and warmed over. Still, this a a great value and a great ambiance, and it's a big menu so there's lots of selection. There are some excellent Asian restaurants nearby on Taraval, Irving & Noriega, but sometimes a little Europe is a nice change.
Bargin bargin b a r g i n. A great suprise located lakeside and its a bargin. You to in with 15 dollars and you come out full and change. If there is anythin better than than I don't know what it is you get an appitiser, soup, and salad, a pasta dish, your main course and a desert not to mention that cup of coffee to wash it all down.
A pleasant evening. We were seated as soon as we walked in. The service was very attentive. The style of the interior decorating enriched the whole atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was pleasant and enjoyable. A beautiful place for dining out.
