The Scene
At this lively, teensy Japanese joint, a mixed neighborhood crowd packs in tight at tables beneath framed bamboo art and whimsical sea anemone lights. Friendly young chefs do their thing behind the glittery sushi bar, while servers offer good-natured service.
The Food
Seared just enough to keep it quiet, beef tataki starter is rubbed with tangy garlic ponzu, with tantalizing results. Kani croquettes stuffed with crab and served with spicy mayo also make for a worthwhile beginning--hot, crisp and creamy. As for sushi, specialty maki, like Spider, Dragon and spicy California rolls are plentiful (and pricey), but nothing tops the scrumptiously mellow Marilyn Monroe roll with scallops, cucumber, shrimp tempura and garlic mayo sauce. Nigiri sushi, such as supple salmon and smoky barbecued eel, are fresh, flavorful and artfully presented with a smear of wasabi adorning each plate.

I have been to many sushi places- and last week was my first time at Deep Sushi- I really enjoyed it- the food is great! Service does need a little work but if you want good food and a cozy atmosphere go! I will be going back!

After hearing all about this place from a friend I decided to go with some friends. Turned out to be the worst experience of a sushi place I have ever been to! Drinks were way too expensive and the staff was very unattentive. The bartender/owner at the back lounge thought he was way too cool and all he did was flirt with all my friends...they saw right through his phony attitude! It took him 20 minutes to get us 2 drinks...and they weren't even worth the wait! The food is good, however, not worth the wait! They must have a lot of friends posting on here to get there rating up because just a week ago they only had 2 stars! Thank goodness for loyal friends. I will never go back!!
