Extremely satisfied customer. I have never received better customer service! I recently lost my car key and was in full panic mode. I had parked my car in the Marina a day before street cleaning, on a Saturday and at the time I thought I had a chip installed a key. There is a misconception that chip installed keys can only be replaced by your dealer. WRONG! The cost would have been $600+ to have my car towed, a new key and a new chip. I called AllCity and not only were they comforting on the phone, informative, the cost was exponentially cheaper. They were capable of making a new key, even the chip installed key. I was estatic! Steve was able to meet me within the hour and it all took, but a half hour!

Steve was fantastic, reassuring, professional and skilled. He made the key for me (which turned out to be just a regular car key) and checked several times whether all the door locks and ignition worked with the new key. He also provided very informative advice about the mechanics of chip installed keys for cars. He answered all my questions in laymen's terms, since I am a woman, and know very little about auto service. I felt safe and Steve is personable; it seems like you've known him for years.

Steve is well trained in his profession and there is no doubt he really cares about his customer's needs, even if half the battle was trying to decrease my anxiety. Don't call anyone else. AllCity should be your first call!

Never Get Locked Out Again!. Hey don't get locked out again!! All City will install a keypad access control for your door. I LOVE MINE! No more keys locked in, forgotten or lost keys, friends arriving from the airport and you're not home yet. Forget the hassle of keys - the lock is always on the door and you have the combination.

PROMPT and PROFESSIONAL. All City came to my business and rekeyed and did some repairs on time and very quickly. My locks work perfectly. All their locksmiths are licensed and bonded pros. I highly recommend them and I like them.

Sub-par work and attitude.... Steve came out to fix old lock 8 months ago and installed a new cylinder. He was very nice and we even spent some time talking about wine etc... A few months later the screws started to come lose. Eventually the screws came out so I called allcitylock. When Steve showed up, the first thing out of his mouth seemed to be "you are still paying", referring to the $70 service call, just to show up. He kept telling me that my lock was old and that they are always breaking. In reality my lock hadn't let me down. The screws that Steve had used to attach his new cylinder had let me down. I explained to him that if he had taken the time to do the job correctly the first time his job would have lasted more than 8 months. If he had simply drilled new holes instead of using the old ones there would have been no need for this $70 service call. He got angry and told me that I was lucky that he wasn't charging me labor for him to take his drill and drill two new holes. I called the office and voiced my complaints and asked for a call back from "steve the owner" but I received no call back. If the new screws he installed do not last 8 months because I am hard on locks or something, I will owe Steve and apology. Otherwise it is my opinion that the job was not done correctly the first time and when I called to get it corrected I was charged another $70. I will not use all city locksmith again. After I posted this, my check for $70 was returned to me. I appreciate the fact that although steve may have disagreed with my opinions they were willing to look beyond to make sure that the customer was satisfied. I appreciated what transpired, and I appreciate their customer service.

While I agreed with Steve's(the locksmith) diagnosis of the problem, I refunded your check because I disagreed with his attitude and we really do back up our work. Thanks, Steve Hess

great locksmith. highly recommended.. alex came out to fix the lock to my apartment (key broke off in the lock). he showed up early, and finished the job in minutes - removed the broken key, did some filing so the door would lock/unlock easily, and made an extra key. he didn't charge me much and was very professional and helpful.

Couldn't get a response. After reading the reviews, wanted to use All City Locksmith. I called the main number and talked to Christine who was very nice and set up a time for a locksmith to come out the same day between 1-3pm. 3pm rolled around, 3:30pm, 4pm, no call, no doorbell ring, no nothing. When I called the main number and castro location number, the phone rang and rang and rang. No voicemail, no nothing. Not sure why they are so unresponsive, and wish I could have used them but they didn't seem to want to make it happen!

I'm sorry for the mistakes we made. I have spoken to both the locksmith who forgot his appointment and the dispatcher who missed your phonecalls. If in the future you want to give us another chance to serve you I will give you a $20 discount. Again please accept my apology. Steve Hess

best locksmith in the bay! bar none!. I was hesitant about going here because of the negative comments of the last poster but i'm glad i went ahead and hired "Steve" anyways.

I had a specific and as we learned, a "huge problem" taking out half a key that was snapped off my motorcycle ignition(one of the hardest jobs for a locksmith if your lucky enough to get someone that knows this area of the trade). This happened to happen at the worst possible time as I had several potential buyers (of the same motorcycle) at the scene show up.

I could NOT have had a better craftsman of his trade show up! Steve knows his stuff!!!

He quoted me at $160 earlier via phone....He was going at it for over 2 hours(with a crowd of impatient buyers surrounding him) until he got the remainder of that key out of the ignition and then made me 2 copies......for $160!!!!

Steve is an old-school craftsman that knows his trade inside out and outside in and I appreciate that alot about him. He's also an old-school guy that says it the way it is whether you like it or not. I respect and admire that quality about him.

He's a great guy once you get to know him and by the end of it all, we were practically best friends. He's a wiseguy, but if you have any layer of thick skin and a sense of humor, he's ACES and good all around dude!

I hope he doesnt retire anytime soon because I made sure to get his card. I'd love to have him around for all and any future work/problems I come across!!! Even I have to pay more for his services, I know I'm getting the best in the business

Expensive, Rude Service. Based on the glowing reviews here, I called All City Locksmith to re-key a deadbolt, but I have to say it was one of the more unpleasant transactions I have been involved in.

The locksmith was very short tempered and rude, and commented that he'd need to hurry because he was concerned for his safety in our neighborhood. I commented that the area wasn't particularly dangerous, which seemed to add to his irritation. A stroller or a bicyclist may run into him, but that's about it -- our area of the Mission is hardly a warzone.

Anyway, fifteen minutes later I get the bill and the bill is five times what I had to pay a different locksmith to rekey a lock a few months ago. To top it all off, on the invoice the guy wrote my name in it's feminine form (I am a guy, but not very straight-acting, apparently). I wasn't rude to him at all, so whatever...

I wish the other locksmith was still around, but they went out of business for lack of the proper permits or something. The other guys were much nicer and affordable. I wouldn't use All City again, that's for sure.

Extremely fast service. I was impressed with how quickly they responded to my non-emergency call (next day service--on a Saturday), and how quickly they fixed my broken lock.

Highly Recommend All City Locksmith. All City is extremely professional and courteous. High praises for the front office phone customer service, their follow-up, and the locksmith (Steve). Steve is obviously a professional lockshmith, as he fixed both my locks in short order. Steve also took the time to field my questions, and he had some excellent advice. I am very happy with my new locksmith, and I highly recommend All City!
