Excellent cleaning service – Thorough, responsible, high quality cleaning services! I'm in my second year of using this agency--even when I was out of the country. Always on time, good followup (they care enough to call back and ask how it went,) and definitely value for money. I've spent many years hiring people by word-of-mouth, neighbors, etc, with very hit-and-miss results. With this agency I have finally found a service that consistently meets all my cleaning needs, and at the same rates I was paying for less-than-stellar before. Highest recommendations for a great service run very professionally.
Excellent Service – I've used this service for about 2 yrs. & have always been happy with the results. If my cleaner can't make it ,(Sick, Vacation,etc.) I get notified usually a week in advance so 5 Star can make other arrangements for me. When I started this service, I was asked if I wanted to furnish the cleaning supplies or have the cleaner bring them with her. Figuring most cleaners may be on public transportation I've opted to supply them & make life easier for the person doing the work. I'm a single guy & not a great housekeeper on my own. It is a relief knowing that when 5 Star is done my place is really clean & orderly. I would recommend them to anyone..
A waste of time and money – The WORST housekeeping agency I've ever used! I called to schedule twice a month cleanings. For $85/cleaning, I thought 5 Star Housekeeping was a great deal. The lady on the phone, Monica, told me that if I wasn't satisfied with the first housekeeper, I could request a different one for next time. . She said they would keep sending someone new until I found my perfect match. I thought this was a bit strange. Shouldn't all of their employees be equally trained and qualified? Why do I have to sift through different cleaners? We went forward, however, and the first girl came to my home.
She was young and nice but didn't come with any of her own cleaning supplies. No problem, I said, just use ours. Let's just say that her cleaning skills were not what one would expect of a "5 Star Agency" By the time she was done, there was food left in the sink, garbage cans left full, dust everywhere, and overall, no attention to detail. Now, I don't consider myself to be a neat freak, but even I know that a sink hasn't been cleaned if last night's veggies are still sitting in it.
Back to the drawing board. I called Monica at the agency and told her the situation. No problem, she said, we'll send you a different lady. The day before the scheduled cleaning, the lady called me to reschedule due to the fact that she was sick.
The next week, she came to our home, sans her own supplies, so I showed her where all of our cleaning agents were. She then insisted that I provide her with gloves. Lucky for her I had a pair that I use for washing dishes, but, dang! Is it really my responsibility to provide everything? What if I hadn't had any gloves? Not to mention the fact that all of the rags she used were mine and therefore my responsibility to launder at the end of the day. Not a big issue, really, but not something I had experienced with other housekeepers in the past.
She proceeded to perform a less-than-stellar cleaning. Most annoying was the fact that she left full garbage bags on our back porch (a mere 10 steps from the garbage shoot). So close! And various other appliances, such as the vacuum cleaner were left in random places like the middle of the living room.
I figured that it was slightly better than the last job, however, and I was getting tired of scheduling time that I could be home to show housekeepers around our building. I gave her they keys to our home and she said she'd be back in two weeks. The day she was supposed to come, I received a voice mail from her saying that she was having car trouble and wasn't going to make it and asking if she could come later in the week. I called back and said that would be fine. Needless to say, we never heard from her again. Nor did I hear from 5 Star until I called Monica the following week to ask when the lady was going to come back.
Monica said that the housekeeper in question was MIA. No one had heard from her and as far as they were concerned, she was no longer with the agency. Ok, I said, can you have her send me my keys back? "Oh no," insisted Monica, we're not responsible for lost or stolen keys. "It was your choice to give this person your keys." WTF? So now, I'm out $300 bucks because I had to change my locks!
Basically, 5 Star Housekeeping is a load of crap. Don't waste your time or your money. I have since found another agency that charges less than 5 Star and sends two cleaners to our home. They are thorough, professional, have never cancelled, and bring their own supplies.
Best Cleaners Ever – After a year of bi-weekly cleaning I can tell you this agency is the best! Routine cleaning always done to perfection and if I need something special - like cleaning the oven - all I do is leave a note. Same with patio furniture - any special projects - just give them a day's notice and they'll make sure your cleaner knows about your requests. Give yourself a gift and hire these guys and gals to clean your home so you have time to do the fun things in life!
