This quaint and cozy West Portal diner is a neighborhood favorite for big brekkies from morning until afternoon..
In a city full of weekend-only brunch spots, a "breakfast all day" menu can make a welcome reprieve on a lazy Wednesday. Locals fill this homey restaurant during its short open hours (they close by mid-afternoon) for big plates of hash, eggs Benedict, creative omelets, Belgian waffles and the house favorite, a traditional Irish breakfast complete with baked beans. Sure, there are lunch options as well, plus a selection of daily pies in tin plates, but when you can order bacon and eggs at noon, why wouldn't you? Coffee is bottomless and you'll always see the same friendly faces behind the counter, which only adds to a certain throwback quality that makes this big city restaurant seem very small town.

Delicious family-friendly diner.
This place has consistently great food, friendly service, and a comfortable and homey atmosphere. Everything is delicious and satisfying, and they have a great brunch and lunch menu: eggs, waffles, pancakes, burgers, sandwiches ... they have a wide selection. The French Toast is one of the best I've ever had, and their turkey burgers and milkshakes are also great. The Grill is always busy and bustling, and at peak times there is usually a wait. The West Portal neighborhood is cute, and you can find parking pretty easily on side streets.
