Editorial Review for Cafe for All Seasons – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
This popular cafe offers well-rendered California comfort food in a warm and airy setting, highlighted by polished woods and a bustling open kitchen. The clientele consists mainly of well-heeled professionals from the upscale neighborhood. The menu emphasizes healthy items, such as salads, light pasta dishes, and chicken and seafood plates. However, a pork medallion entree and a traditional burger are available to satisfy meat eaters.

I've been dining at the Cafe since 1992 when I moved to West Portal and have always enjoyed it, even after the ownership changed the food and service maintained it's quality if not improved. New specials like the meatloaf special (yummy!), and the Cafe classics like the Mexican salad and the fresh crab sandwich make go to the cafe at least twice a week!

Yes, this restaurant has had some changes recently, but keeping restuarant staff isn't easy, and when fewer people come to eat, it is harder to afford larger portions. I assure you that the portions are still more than enough in many cases and just right in others. The fact of the matter is that it still tastes just as good as it did the first day they opened. The salads are a masterpiece, the sandwiches are yummy, and the service is still very good. Those who say different are just upset that the place has changed a little bit. But nothing ever stays exactly the same now does it? The regulars are still regulars, and that has to count for something doesn't it? I think that this cafe is still on the top of my list and should become one of yours too.
