The proprietor here is Vidal Sassoon trained and does an excellent job for a ridiculously cheap price. Best if you know what you want.

Tips for Cut'n Curl Beauty Salon

Local place, established for 12yrs. I am new to SF for about a year. I have tried some salons but you knwo the how the story goes...! I moved again to Marina District @ Chestnut. I one day went into Cut'n Curl said how much will you charge to make me bright blonde again & to maintain it every 4-5 weeks. $75 later I was perfectly blonde, not orange or brassy, perfect. Thong the owner must have sensed my tension. He said I take care of you, no worries. He said I may not have a fancy shop but I have been here for 12 years, me & my wife are good people. Man did I feel bad! I took all my tension out from bad experiences at other salons here and from where I use to live out on him. Needless to say I am hook on going there now.
