A flowery retreat in the middle of the city.. The Scene
This B&B strives to sweep you away from the bustle of the city. A white picket fence and English-style garden will make you feel as if you've been transported to the countryside. Once inside, the fragrance of lavender, sage and rosemary drifts in through the windows, keeping the illusion alive. The Pacific Heights district offers a mix of commercial and residential properties and is a 20-minute ride by taxi or bus to such popular sites as Fisherman's Wharf and Union Square.

Rooms are furnished with artwork, antiques and down comforters. Additional amenities include terry robes and fresh flowers. The more popular rooms are the English Garden Room, with its own deck, and the Carriage House, featuring its own garden. Adorned with a fireplace, the New Yorker makes a cozy retreat. Parking is available down the block for $15 a night.
