Good location and great value.. I have stayed at this motel for more than 15 years. Yes, it's on Lombard so there is traffic and bus noise. Nonetheless, the location is great. It's a real part of the City, unlike the Fisherman's Wharf or Union Square. Interesting shopping is found on Union Street, about 3 or 4 blocks away. There are many good restaurants and coffee houses nearby. A walk to the base of the Golden Gate bridge, through Crissy Field, is a must in the early morning or late afternoon.

Noisy. My brother and I stayed here while I was apartment hunting. We could hear traffic on Lombard St outside our window. The room was cold and drafty. The elevator seemed rickety. For $120/night, I should've gone to one of the motels nearby instead.

While a grand total of 112 rooms, including 17 suites, suggests a lack of personalized influences, this is a place your ma might have decorated. The lights are soft, the wallpaper is floral and the bed frames are provincial in style. Suites are available for short-term residence stays.

Home Away From Home. We stay at the Cow Hollow at least once a month and it is our home away from home! The rooms are always fresh & clean, and it is in a fantastic location ~ the heart of the Marina District! Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great value and location.
