Basic, clean lodgings for budget travelers.. The Scene
This simple motel offers decent rooms at decent rates. While many know Lombard Street for its short, crooked, famous section overlooking the Bay, this property is located on a straight stretch convenient to Ghirardelli Square, Fisherman's Wharf and Golden Gate Bridge.

The Details
Rooms come in two types: one queen bed or two. They are done in standard motel style, with floral bedspreads and simple furnishings including a table and chairs. Rollaway beds, cribs and kitchenette units cost extra. Guests will find a nice offering of freebies here, such as HBO, in-room coffee, parking and morning pastries.

Friendly, clean, affordable. The owners are very involved in the day-to-day running of the motel, and they are very friendly and helpful. This is definitely budget lodging, but they keep the place super clean and it feels safe. Ammenities such as free parking, kitchenette with full size fridge (plus stove, microwave), and central location make this a real value for the money.

Guests must put up a $50 deposit for the room key and TV remote control. Bring your own dish sponge, food, shampoo, and pillows. The room is large, equivilent to an efficiency apartment. Safeway is about 5 blocks away near Fort Mason.
