So happy with my ring!. We went to David Clay to reset my mother-in-law-to-be's engagement ring when it became my ring. We met with Serena multiple times looking at different examples of settings and options. We ended up describing a setting we had seen elsewhere and Serena sketched it out and made it just for us. We wanted to have the ring ready by the time we went home to CT for Christmas. Serena worked with us to make sure we met our tight deadline, even with the busy holiday rush. She even came to our house so we could see the wax cast before it was made since our work schedules made it hard to get to the store! The ring came out more beautiful than I could have hoped.
My fiance and I made the mistake of going to David Clay on Union twice. The first time, we had just returned from Stinson, where I had proposed and given her my great-grandmother's engagement ring. We went into David Clay to look for a new setting for the 100 year-old diamond. The salesman there could not keep from referring to the wonderful "Hearts on Fire" diamonds that they sold there. Repeating that we wanted to reset the very special diamond we already owned, he made the point of comparing it to the "flawless Hearts on Fire" diamond and pointing out the imperfections in the diamond I had just given my sweetie. What an a$$hole!
Four months later, we stop in again, this time while shopping for my wedding band (we ultimately found the perfect engagement setting and band from 3rd-generation SF jewelry artist Van Craeynest). This time, the saleswoman we met didn't ask us any questions about what we wanted before pulling out a handful of men's bands that she somehow knew, "would be great on me." A huge improvement over our first visit, but still disappointing.
This place would do well with some basic sales training.
Awful. Brought my wedding band here to have it engraved. They completely botched it! Letters misspaced, put quotes around the whole thing, etc.. Then, they try and get another one and do it again and they screw it up AGAIN! Thought we would pay a little more and have it done right by going here. Big mistake.
Superior Service+Selection in Enagagement Rings!. I was having a hard time finding the perfect setting for my ring. I had been to a few of the Simayof's and was tired of the sales people giving me conflicting pricing and information. Finally, I went into David Clay and found the setting I had been looking for and our sales person was extremly helpful and wanted to make sure I was happy with my selection. The whole experience was wonderful and their service is really outstanding. In addition, they do have a beautiful selection of settings!

Tasteful, Unique, Magnificent Jewelry. After reading the last review on Citysearch, I decided to go in and browse through the store. David Clay has, in my opinion, the most beautifully set engagement rings in the city. It is obvious by the look and feel of the store that care, time, attention and detail goes into every piece they produce. David Clay is a one-of-a-kind gem.
