What People Are Saying About Black Magic

In Short – This place is fairly dark, with gray walls, black ceilings and burgundy velvet curtains--a few Mardi Gras beads here, a skeleton there, even framed black-and-white photos of grave sites. Bartenders are liberal with the liquor and will chat with newcomers until they become familiar. Two TV monitors hang in the small room, drawing attention whenever there's a game on, while the jukebox is mainly classic rock.
Canadians come one and all
by CanadianGuy2005
On 3 different trips to the Bay area, I always ran into fellow Canadians there. Met some Raider fans one Saturday night there and saw them again the next day at the game. It's great!
- Pros: Great service, atmosphere, drinks
- Cons: Smoking allowed
Beware of cranky bartender
by aspiccia
Very cozy place with a great New Orleans feel. Great late night environment for a drink with friends, but the rude bartender we had when we were there (early November) really left a bad impression. Not only did he display poor customer service, but almost went out of his way to be incredibly rude to my group of friends. It is unfortunate, because this could have been a staple spot when returning to San Francisco.
- Pros: ambience
- Cons: service
