I, Japanese, surrender. Sushi materials are of standard. And they are innovative.

Honest and kind people. They know how to serve sushi.

That's why I visit them always when I arrive in San Fransisco

from Tokyo.

Not worth the Value. Service was slow as there was only one server. However, we were offered Saki compliments of the house for our wait. The decoration is nice but the food is not worth the value. We ordered a Salmon dinner. The Salmon was old and dry. We ordered 2 different types of roles only to be pleasantly surprised to see that we didnt order anything with eel. We checked the menu, again eel was not mention in the dish. Not worth the value!

Best in Town!. I've eaten at all the other top sushi places in the city and this is by far the best! It's a quaint authentic spot and the fish is always fresh! They have unique and tasty roll specials and the owners are the most gracious people. You can sit at the sushi bar, private room or at tables. You will not be dissappointed.

Standard Sushi. The sushi was pretty standard here. Everything seemed fresh and they do offer a few inventive rolls. Nothing really stood out. I enjoyed the sushi quality more than Sushi Chardonay or Mas Sake. The Nigiri combo gives you a little of everything for around $20.

The service is pleasant and the atmosphere is pretty static. They seem to do quite a bit of take out. I may try it again.

Great, quiet sushi place. Wow, a traditional sushi place in SF--who would have figured with Mas Sake, Ace Wasabi, and Marina Sushi down the street? Food is superb, fresh, and tasty. Service is friendly, attentive, but leisurely. Ambiance is quiet and mostly authentic. In short, a great place to eat great sushi.

If you want a party, get-you-out-the-door service, obnoxious clientele, and loud music, try one of the 3 places I mentioned above. Maybe you can even get what you consider to be decent sushi there, too, if you like yours Californiazed, hopped up on hot sauce, and/or mushy.

Atami. Great food, innovative rolls, always fresh fish. I ear here about once a week, have introduced friends to Atami and they have told their friends! The 49er roll is the best. Service may be a bit slow, but Michelle and Wylie know most visitors by name AND order - service like that is worth the wait. Take out is always an option too, just allow for 30 minutes!

Great Food, Slow service. I loved ths sushi here - but I have to say that the few times that we have been here, the service was very slow. Very nice - but slow. I keep coming back though just make sure that you have a lot of time to spend! Yummmmmmm!
