The Scene – As the work day ends, this narrow space fills up. A slightly elevated area near the entrance provides blue-upholstered seating in front of picture windows offering prime people-watching onto bustling Union Street. Walls are painted copper or baby blue and adorned with picture-framed mirrors (ideal for scoping 20- and 30-something hotties across the way). Track lighting runs above the lengthy mirror-backed bar, which features a dozen or so tap beers and Skyy vodka martini specials scrawled in cursive. In back, there are a few blue booths and a pool table. – – The…

Great Bar on Union

by act1981 at Citysearch

The Blue Light is a fun bar that has tasty bar food and good atmosphere. If you’re not in the mood to watch a sports game on one of their many televisions you can hit the back room and play pool. It’s spacious and seems like it always has a good crowd.

Great College Football Spot

by Jeff Rapp at Citysearch

I don't usually post about bar food but this was a special Saturday afternoon in San Fransisco. We needed a place to watch the Michigan game while traveling and were pointed to Blue Light Cafe. They were very well set up with signs on each TV detailing which game will be shown at particular times. We arrived plenty early to secure a good seat for our game. When it was all said and done we spent too much money, drank a lot of pitchers and spent a healthy nine or so hours in the same corner. Big Blue beat Indiana and everyone had a great time. Dinner time arrived so I picked something off the menu for nourishment. I ordered mac 'n cheese with a side salad. It was surprisingly good and well cooked given the location. The salad wasn't half bad either. For bar food on game-day Saturday, I was impressed.

Awesome Marina hangout. Great drinks & food. Hip crowd.

by Genna Idral at Citysearch

I love going to Blue Light. I’ve been here countless times and the place is always packed with a mix of cool young people. The bar has a casual vibe with hip & friendly Marina crowds in their 20s and 30s. Nothing pretentious about this Marina hangout and people always seem to be having fun. Terrific drinks and great food at great prices. And yes, the TACO TUESDAYS are the best!

Cold beverages, tasty app's and good jukebox

by mark at Citysearch

We went to the Blue Light the other night with co-workers after work. Always a fun time. We sampled various app's all which were tasty and the Fat Tire's were ice cold. Also, the juke box has a large variety of tunes which is great. They've added a Wi game in the back which seemed very popular.

If you're a sports enthusiast, with 19 HD flat screen TV's with satellite access, there isn't a bad seat in the house. For those who think all good bars should have a pool table and juke box, we've got those, too. Above all, we value our customers, old and new, and we strive to make our service reflect that belief.
