City Prices with Pub Atmosphere. Many good employees hired by prior owner Ralph and current owners Eddie/Gil have set this old instituion apart. Unfortunate choice of Tom as the GM has detracted from the Lil's experience.

A dark cool place to nurse your hangover.. What do you want to do to nurse a hangover?

Stay in a dark cool room, is usually my answer.

Usually I prefer to stay in bed, BUT if I must venture out, I prefer a place that is not too crowded, serves some decent greasy grub and I would prefer to be in the dark.

Liverpool Lil's is my answer. For those that want to enjoy the outside dining and the Marina sunshine, stay outside.

If you prefer to nurse your body back to health and not be sitting outside with the heat and elements disturbing you, inside is nice, very dark and cool. Service is pretty quick, we never had to wait for a refill of water or iced tea and the mixed drinks are strong especially for the daylight hours. The menu inside is lots of fattening greasy food, which if you are hungover, exactly what you need. You can come here, rest and nurse yourself up to speed for the night's festivities, and then go back home to finish the recuperation process.

A Pleasant Surprise. We recently visited Liverpool Lil's. We have driven by it a million times and had never eaten there. This is a great neighborhood spot. The dining area is sufficient but, the bar area is a little tight. The food is very good! Our favorites are the beef wellington and the short ribs which just fall apart and right off the bone. Absolutely delicious. Enjoy!

Bad customer service. I've been going here for 15 years. Went by today with my pup for the first time - beautiful day to sit outside. Waited for staff to sit me and after a few minutes took the only available table. A customer who walked in after me was able to go inside (dogs are not allowed inside restaurants in California) and ask for an outside table. I was bumped and asked to wait even though I was there first.

I've been a great customer. Always tip way more than 20% even when service isn't the best and the food is off a little. I won't go back, ever again.

one of my favorite little cozy restaurants. try the petrale sole or the pork chop.....soooo good! this is becoming one of my favorite places in the city. totally casual and friendly, i have never been disappointed. at the very least it is a great place for people watching for that marina/presidio crowd vibe. it feels like a very reliable neighborhood place with a warm, pub-type atmosphere without that stale alcohol smell. excellent!

OK Food, but pricey. Food and beer are above average, though the food is definitely short of excellent. The prices seemed high: hamburger plate for over $10, a bowl of french onion soup for almost $8, fish and chips for about $15.

The atmosphere is fine, but for fish and chips with a good pint, I'll take the Pig and Whistle for about 1/2 the price.

Lively English pub in the Marina plies sports fans and merrymakers with draught beers, cocktails and rib-sticking grub.. In Short
Bartenders pour a steady stream of Guinness at this dark, homey eatery. In the rear dining room, friendly waiters serve burgers, sandwiches, and fried fish to the lunch and late-night crowds while families and old folks dine early on New York steaks and hearty English standards, like Manchester Wellington and Sheffield Pie. Up front, a separate bar menu and additional tables with small seating nooks cater to customers looking for a more casual dining experience.

This is the place. I've been going to Lil's on and off for about seven years now and haven't been dissapointed once. After a Guiness or two and the Bedford Beef Ribs you can't help but feel well rested and at home here. It does tend to get a little loud, but the rich dark wood and comfortable lighting sets up a great authentic atmosphere that keeps keeps me coming back.
