How much?.
This is my six year old's favorite restaurant, and the pizza is certainly amongst the tops in san francisco. The meat toppings are really fantastic here, especially the pepperoni and meatballs. Incredibly tasty.
But holy smokes, how can they possibly charge so much? This place would be out of business in a day if it were actually on the East Coast! Any random pizza place in the northeast could compete well with Amici's on quality at about 1/3 of the price.
East Coast Pizza. If you like East Coast pizza I highly reccomend Amici's. It is by far the best pizza I have had. They have good salads as well.
Great Pizza. Go with the thin-crust. It's a lower calorie option and has just as much flavor. Parking can be challenging but worth the stop
Better than fair.... Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, after reading all the great reviews the wife and expected something really special. It was good, we had the New York style with sausage and mushoom, the crust was nice and and crispy though a bit burnt on the edges. We dabbed off the copious amounts of grease before consuming. Overall not bad, I've had comparable pizza in other establishments.
Amici's great. I have dined at Amici's a few times now since returning to the Bay Area. The food is served relatively quick but what I like is the friendliness of the employees. I mean: why would I like a place that served good food but the waiters etc treated you poorly? I don't belong to the club where if they serve you bad food and treated you worst, you still tip them and smile on the way out! They remember what I like, they treat me very well and the four-cheese lasagna is very cheesey and tasty!! It's one of my favorites now!! the only sour note is the parking ~ non-existent ~ and I hate driving round n round in circles looking for a spot. Even though, it's a great spot nicely decorated and always crowded.... this is one place where I don't mind ordering pizza!! Enjoy!!
good pastas. i dont go to amici`s much, i usually have them deliver the food . they deliver food on good time(much faster than most joints ) and also their pizzas are good . i really like their pastas more than their pizzas. Most people I know like this place.
Best pizza this side of New York.
I am a native New Yorker. Born and raised on folded slices of 'za to go. I have complained for over 2 decades about the lack of good pizza in San Francisco. Highly touted spots (Village Pizzeria, North Beach Pizza, Escape from NY) have just never passed muster and I can't keep driving across the bridge to Arinell in Berkeley (the Arinell on Valencia is awful).
But now I have Amici's. This is as close as you get to perfection. The pizza has thin crust, great sauce, the perfect heft of cheese and a good belnd of spices.
And their pasta is not bad either. I also recommend their antipasto salad with the Ceasar dressing - truly superb.
Best Pizza in SF. It's hard to find great pizza in sf and I found it in Amici's! I can have the thin crust margarita or the philly with the sausage and bell peppers. It's great to go to the King street location right before a Giants game! They have some great beers like Pilsner on the tap. It has everything that reminds me of being back in the east coast! It's the closest pizza to the ones I have had when I was a tiny kid in Boston!
This New York-style pizzeria features thin-crust pizza with non-traditional toppings..
In Short
A destination for East Coast transplants, this mini-chain is known for its brick-oven baked pizzas. To accentuate the thin, crispy, chewy crusts, pizzas come with less sauce and cheese than typically found on California pies. Toppings include traditional options, such as pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes, as well as an array of nontraditional options, including clams, garlic, bacon and lemon oil.
Best delivery by far in Marina/Pac Hts Districts - and great Pizza!. I can't wait until they reopen at their new location. I've tried several of the other Pizza joints in the area and each has taken well over an hour for delivery. Maybe it's because Amici's is closed for the past couple of week, or maybe not. When Amici's reopens I won't be taking any chances. For the quickest delivery, don't try anything but Amici's. Enough about their delivery. There prices are a bit high but the pizza is simply fantastic. As close to New York style pizza you will find in the area.
