fun but rude. this place is usually a fun time but the service is always rude. I totally agree with the review below on the bouncers being jerks and waaay to forceful when trying to throw people out of the bar come closing time. And the whistle in everyone's faces as soon as the light comes on....seriously?

Disgraceful Service. This weekend I hosted a cocktail party for my friends and parents visiting, followed with a trip to the Marina Triangle. Since Eastside West was fairly empty, I brought my mom in for a glass of wine. It was the usual scene, and as a local I'm pretty used to it. While we were finishing our drink, a bouncer stomped in next to us, blew a whistle in our faces and proceeded to physically shove my mother, and the rest of us out of the bar. I have never in my life been treated so disrespectfully. I understand that bars like those need to be forceful as they're used to breaking up fights and handling young drunk kids, but the way we were shoved was deplorable. I also understand that it's not the place you really bring parents, but that is no excuse, because if I were alone I wouldn't expect to be treated like that. I snapped at the bouncer, "do NOT touch my mother," and he laughed in our faces. I have brought a ton of business to that bar in the past, but I will never go back to a place that treats it's paying and tipping patrons like cattle. Get a clue!

AVOID THE FOOD. I went here on a date. I had a burger, ordered "medium. Long story short, the burger was made "well done", overcooked, and hardly eatible. I sent it back. The next one was better, but still dry...I ate it anyway, at least this time I could swallow the meat. VERY VERY pricey and below average food, I would have enjoyed a whopper from Burger King so much more.

Terrible customer service. I have NEVER been treated with average customer service at Eastside West. Strongly advise against going to this restaurant/bar if you would like decent service and good attitudes from the staff. This terrible customer service has occurred on many different occasions and I've decided to never go again. The area has so much potential, and there is no excuse for being treated this way. Such a shame.

drinks not dinner!!. went for dinner, would prefer to have just had drinks. the meal was fair, menu average and staff boring. the bar scene was more of the place to be.

Go elsewhere for brunch. This is your typical neighborhood hangout where locals can eat outside where they have set up tables and chairs just like a lot of the other restaurants there, or just inside at a table or at the bar. We were a big group so we couldn't be seated outside since it was a nice sunny day and the outdoor seating was full. The service was adequate and the food just slightly below. The chef seems to want to spice everything up, regardless if it says so on the menu such as the eggs chesapeake, the pork sandwich and the lobster chowder. The poached eggs seemed almost like a soft-boiled egg. I understand the burger was pretty good, but nothing was outstanding.

Best brunch I've had in SF. We came in for brunch on a Saturday and had a great time. We started off with a bottle of champagne and some oysters. The champagne (Veuve Rose)was recommended to us by our server and was excellent and the oysters were super fresh. For our entrees we had an Eggs Chesapeak (like Eggs Benedict but with crab cakes instead of ham and english muffin) and some pancakes. The service kicked ass. Awesom brunch. Sit outside if the weather permits so you can watch the marina folks stroll by.

SERVICE WITH AN ATTITUDE. I went for brunch on a Sunday afternoon and although the place was dead it took someone 10 minutes to seat us even though we had a reservation. The server was clearly not happy to serve us. As someone in the industry- wouldn't you want to be nice to someone who is going to tip you?? She never checked on us and people who arrived after we did got their food first. Going here was a mistake and I doubt I will be returning. Spice up the service cranky ladies! I'm sorry you got stuck with a Sunday brunch shift but don't make our experience hell.

Horrible!. I went here before and thought the food and service were pretty good. However, recently my dining experience this was nothing short of awful. The food was below average bar food, and quite expensive for what it was and the service was awful. It took over an hour to get served and the waitress continued to serve our food to the wrong table. When we got fed up with the situation and asked to cancel the remaining plates the waitress told us that they had already been prepared. We had a plain view of the kitchen and actually saw them began to prepare the food after our request. I would not recommend this place for anything other than drinks. It was one of the worse dining experiences of our lives.
