We tried to make reservations for a party of 14, and was told the kitchen couldnt accommodate that size of party. Ridiculous! Who turns down business?? So bad for large groups! Looking for a new place to go. Thanks
We had the BEST sushi happy hour last Friday night. My friends and I have been going there for a year now and I have to say, I've always had a great experience there.
I LOOOVE their Albacore Tuna tataki! Everything else we ordered was great, including the Scorpion roll. I was surprised that it only cost $27 each including tax and tip to fill us up.
Everyone there was really nice to us. Our waitress was sweet (we didn't sit at the sushi bar), always smiling and asking us if we needed anything. Atmosphere is casual but we didn't feel out of place wearing heels.
Overall, this is absolutely my favorite place to eat sushi in Marina.
Great sushi restaurant. I have lived near this restaurant for years. It is the perfect place to meet up with the girls to catch up over a glass of wine and share some great sushi rolls. And, bingo night may sound cheesy but it is actually really fun. The only bad thing about this place is that it is really small so getting a table can be rough.

This past Friday we had a new experience--Ugly that couldn't be covered up by the fantastic food, beer, and hot sake.
We didn't have to wait to be seated at 7:45PM which seemed odd, but a good thing at the time. But we were seated all-the-way-all-the-way in the back where it was hot and steamy.
We did wait for at least 15 minutes before anyone came by to ask if we wanted dinner. Our waiter smelled like smoke and looked a little disheveled, like he just rolled out of bed or something else. We ordered drinks and Tuna Tataki.
The drinks weren't brought out to the table until the Tuna Tataki was brought out-- It wasn't that busy for a Friday night. I have been there on nights where there are wall-to-wall people and never waited for a drink!
When the large Asahi beer, hot sake, edamame and Tataki were dropped off at the table the waiter didn't bother to take the rest of our order... No one checked back to see how we were doing--if they had they would have seen we were out of drinks and food--with no food on the way! I had to ask the Busboy to get our waiter. Patients dwindling!
We ordered more beer and hot sake and a series of rolls and sushi--very excited! Our excitement evaporating after 30 minutes went by--I got up to physically locate our waiter--I found him looking at this fancy new age Jukebox and he was surprised to see me.
Still it was a half an hour without a word or even visiting the table. The people I was with asked about our food order and like a deer in the headlights--it appeared that he forgot about our food. GREAT!
The sake arrived just barely warm--I sent it back! I didn't wait almost 45 minutes for hot sake to be just barely warm!
Again no one checked to see how we were doing, I couldn't taste a thing anyway! We needed more drinks, we needed more wasabi, we needed attention! We eventually needed the check and again NO ONE!

Server would have liked a better tip. We went there last week and, while it was decent sushi, it was not worth writing home about. Somewhat tasteless (needed a fair amount of wasabi to taste anything). Also, I was disappointed with our waiter. We are regular and fair tippers for service, which was decent here. However, as we were leaving he came up to us and asked if there was anything wrong with our meal, since we tipped lower than "industry standard". We tipped 15% on the pre-tax bill (which, according to everything I read, is standard). According to him that was too low. We go out to dinner (too) frequently, and have never had any server say this to us. Next time in that area we'll be going somewhere else.

Ace Wasabi has become our favorite weekly getaway, we cross the bay bridge into the city once a week to enjoy ace's wonderful experiance. We LOVE the food (scorpion roll, scallop tempura, lobster hand rolls, some kirin and some nigori), not to mention the wondeful staff. We have bonded with all the people here, everyone from the talented chefs, friendly servers and may i mention amazing management (Ms. Akiyo). I give them and A+ on customer service. May i also mention that my boyfriend never had and never wanted anything to do with sushi. After Ace Wasabi, he is hooked! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Great sushi, Great FUN!.
1. I am very picky about my sushi, and I think Ace Wasabi makes excellent sushi. Everything from plain sashimi to the complex and clever rolls are outstanding.
2. There is a definite social style here, which I LOVE, but, may or may not suit your mood or taste. The staff could easily be models, and they are friendly and fun and warm people. Their goal is to make sure everyone has a good time. This could be very tacky if done poorly, but it's done with creativity and genius, IMHO. That said, if you are not in the mood to be social, just hang in the back room where the bulk of the restaurant is. The front area is a mix of bar scene and tables for eating, mixing, drinking and socializing.
3. This place definitely attracts a very attractive, singles crowd. Frankly this is easily the best place I've seen in San Francisco for singles.
4. This place is addictive, so be careful!
Best in the city. this is the only place i go for sushi! awesome food and they even have bingo at 6:30pm every weekday and you can win $20 of free sushi! good location as well.
Slimy Salmon, Frozen Sashimi, The Smell of Chlorine in the Air.
Very Disappointing at best. Our shiro maguro sashimi was frozen, our smoked sake sushi was warm and slimy, the rock shrimp and calamari small plate was pasty and tasteless (served with soy as a dip? No imagination). Presentation is a big part of the sushi experience and there was no presentation. The rolls were poorly prepared and resembled something a toddler might have prepared. We watched our sushi chef make and remake some rolls, throwing parts of some away and dumping what remained on plates to serve.
We sat at the formica counter called a sushi bar on little wooden stools that were uncomfortable. We are convinced that the pungent aroma of chlorine bleach that burned our noses were merely a way to burn away our sense of smell to cover for the fact that the food was tasteless. The waiters were running back and forth behind us on the narrow passageway and we were continually bumped and prodded. There are dozens of sushi bars in SF to choose from that are good and even great. Do not waste your time or money on this one.
