Adorable restaurant!. I first went to this restaurant w/ my boyfriend about a year ago (I have been about 10x since then). It was fantastic! The owner ran up to me and gave me a big hug. What a warm welcome! The restaurant is very small which lends itself to great conversation. The walls are detailed w/ old-world Italian art. You truly feel like you are on a mini vacation in Europe. The food is prepared quickly so it is always hot and fresh. My favorite dish is the tube pasta w/ sausage. A glass of Chianti is the perfect match to this delicious meal. Great date spot and a great place to catch up with an old friend!

With a lovely staff, fresh ingredients and a warm setting this Marina restaurant is the go-to for authentic Italian cuisine.. Known for its cozy atmosphere and warm staff, this Italian spot is a local favorite for two reasons: large portions and reasonable prices. The inside of the small restaurant looks like a renaissance painting, with dramatic stone walls decorated with paintings and rustic mirrors. A comfy banquette stretches the length of the single dining room and a large wine rack hangs above the tables. The crowd is relaxed and the staff welcomes guests as if it were their home. The hearts of palm with melon and the trio misto salad are hits on the antipasti list, but it's best to try few different dishes and share family-style so you can taste a little of everything. The standout entrees are the smoked salmon, asparagus penne in a cream sauce, the veal scaloppini that is sautéed with prosciutto and sage and the house-made gnocchi.

Yummy Italian. I have been going to this place for 10 years and it is consistantly delicious. The owner and staff are always very welcoming. If you haven't been here yet you have to try it!

Very Tasty and Delicious. I return to Parma whenever I am in SF which has been 3 times in the last 2 weeks. The food is wonderful, service is good and the people are pleasant. The atmosphere is very Italian and takes me back to my travels in Italy.

The fetucine carbonara is the best I have ever had. Crispy pancetta and alot of it. Al dente pasta not drowning in heavy cream. The fish is great. The gnocchi good and sauce that tastes good too.

The only thing that bothers me, is that the price list on this site menu , for Parma is much less than the restaurant prices by at least $5. or more per menu item. These menus need to be updated regularly.

The food was worth the higher price. The portions tend to be a bit small but satisfying.

I highly recommend this restaurant.

I am very fussy about Italian food, coming from NY where we have so many great Italian Restaurants. Plus I cooked Italian food all my life. The food has to be something special for me to come back twice.

Best Italian I've ever had ANYWHERE!!. My friend and I visited San Fran over our spring break and we were strolling down Chestnut looking at various menus posted outside of restaurants. Some guy stopped us and told us that if we wanted to eat Italian, the best Italian restaurant he's ever been to was a few blocks over. We went to go check it out and I'm so glad we did! I definitely wouldn't have spotted it on my own b/c it was kinda on a side street. The food was so great and the restaurant itself was so inviting!

A good italian restaurant with good service. Make reservations.. My wife and I have been going to Parma for years, in fact every time we visit the City. The food is great and so is the service. Parma is small so it's recommended to make reservations. I believe that the service is so good because of the small size of the restaurant. The food portions are much larger than some of the restaurants in the North Beach area, so be prepared. The wine selection is good and fits the food.

Good all around for Italian in the Marina. Overall, we had a very nice meal at Parma. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The food was not spectacular, but very good. We'll be back since it's just a couple blocks away from where we live - but I wouldn't necessarily include it on my list of favorite SF restaurants. The antipasto misto is a nice way to sample a number of different things. It's listed as "for one", but you can ask them to make it for two or whatever your party is. We also shared the Penne Romanoff which sounded amazing but was only so-so and the Veal Piccata which was very, very lemony and good. Finally, we had the tiramisu which is normally not my favorite thing, but I had to admit it was very good. Like I said, overall it was a pleasant experience, so if you live in the area, I recommend it. But if not, I'm sure you have an equally good or better Italian restaurant in your neighborhood.

Good, but hoped for better. We wanted a Marina restaurant that was casual and a good value and based on the strength of the reviews in Citysearch we chose Parma. The room is nice and the menu terrific, but both my salad and pasta dish fell a little flat. It was good, but not great, and to be fair my companions enjoyed the meal. I was very happy with the value however, and plan on giving the place another shot in case I or the restaurant was having an off night.

Garlic Lovers Haven - Paired with Deilicious Home Cooked Italian Dishes. Parma is one of THE BEST Italian restaurants in the city. The restaurant is small & quaint & you may have to wait for your table but trust me...the food is well worth the wait. Upon ordering you are served the most potently delicious garlic-oil & vinengar

Delicious Food in a Great Atmosphere. The food here is really superb. It feels like Italy and everything is wonderful. I have been here many time over the last 7 years and I love it every time. The garlic, olive oil and vinegar dip for the bread is great but make sure your date has it too. The house chianti is great and all of the food is delicious.
