Family Run, Honest,,Know their stuff. Clear English spoken!. Owner handed me the keys and told me to test drive the

car after repairs had been made...BEFORE I even handed

him payment! (said he had my address)

In my experience, truly service in a style which has almost

disappeared.

No glamor here. You might have to wait around a bit to

get waited on (always by one of the owners, I hear).

It is cramped but efficiently busy. However, you get the

impression of service for the customer's unique

needs/problems, not a checklist runthrough. And,

no offense intended, but a real factor in SF, they speak

and understand clear English (not even with the Irish

brogue you might be expectin').

A real find....I will be returning and recommend Emerald to others.

Fixed my VW diesel Jetta. Jim tested my car after a brake overhaul and the pedal "just did not seem right."

He tested the vacuum system on another VW diesel, found a higher value than mine,

replaced the vacuum pump on my car, and not only improved the braking but the diesel

operation, also dependent on the vacuum system!

That was awesome!

The most honest mechanics in SF. These guys are straight shooters! I went through 4 mechanics in the first year i've lived in SF (even towing my car out of one shop), and have happily settled here.

Emerald Auto And Brake is Great!. I have had several interactions with these guys and they are very nice and trustworthy, They were willing to go above and beyond at every turn. also it's nice to see a family run buisness in San Francisco, I'm sure their Mom is very proud : )
