A Chinese-influenced American diner in the Inner Sunset offering a portal to the 1950s, complete with breakfast under $4. – At first glance, this rather drab space with large round family-style tables and red paper Chinese decorations looks like it would more likely serve up giant plates of steamed fish or bok choy in oyster sauce than Cold War-era American standbys like cheesy omelettes and tuna melts. The condiments on the table--sri racha, ketchup, hot sauce and syrup--do little to ease confusion. But one look at the menu proves that even though this place may have a little Asian influence, the menu is pure Americana: breakfast combos with everything under the sun, burgers and daily specials are served in huge portions and for ridiculously low prices (one special includes eggs, bacon or sausage, toast or pancakes for only $3.50 before 10am).
cheap, good food – good breakfast like everyone else said but check out their daily specials...one time i got the grilled sole w/ steamed vegetables and rice for $4.50! the owners work there and are the nicest people. i recommend this place over its across-the-street counterpart Howard's Cafe (which, also good, but more expensive and very greasy)
A ton of no-frills food for cheap – The food is pretty much what we could cook at home, with giant portions. At other places you might get a side of toast for $2.50 - at M's you get toast, eggs, country potatoes, ham/bacon/sausage, coffee, AND a little pitcher of milk for your coffee. They are fast, polite, and business-like. Even though they have lots of mix and match menu options, they're not big on substitutions like cottage cheese for potatoes, so if you're a South Beach or Atkins person, stay away because pretty much every breakfast comes with potatoes and toast. The lunches are hearty too, same no-frills kind of American food. They're not open for dinner.
Can't Beat the FOOD Prices – THE PLACE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE MUCH BUT DON'T LET THAT DETER YOU ORDERING BREAKFAST OR LUNCH. THE FOOD IS VERY GOOD AND VERY AFFORDABLE. BUT, DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, TRY IT ONCE AND YOU'LL BE WRITING A POSITIVE REVIEW JUST LIKE I DID !!!
YOU CAN'T BEAT THE BREAKFAST SPECIALS, TWO
EGGS, COUNTRY STYLE HASH BROWNS, TWO PANCAKES, SAUSAGE OR BACON, ALL FOR UNDER $4.00. (TAX INCLUDED)
ABC BURGERS, AVACADO, BACON, CHEESEBURGER, JUST LIKE THE ONE'S YOU'D MAKE IN YOUR BACKYARD BARBACUE BIG ASS PORTION, NOT THE MCDONALDS SAD ASS PATTIE.
AND A LARGE PORTION OF THICK FAT FRIES. ALL FOR UNDER $5.50. (TAX INCLUDED)
Cheap and good – Yeah, the interior design isn't it's strong point, and it isn't a fancy place... but the food is good! It's homestyle cooking, and it's so cheap and I wanted to giggle. Great place to go if you're starving and you only have 5 bucks.
