Good food, Good sushi, Good prices

by polyester1970 at Citysearch

I used to go here a lot because I worked nearby. They never really disappoint.

The sushi is very good and very reasonably priced. They have a really good sashimi options including a combo for a single person, or party trays. They're very fresh, very nice looking, and taste great. They also have some really good rolls. Of course they're more "fusion" American style sushi rolls rather than traditional Japanese rolls, but actually traditional Japanese maki is pretty boring. I recommend the Fire & Ice (spicy sauce on it), among others but I forget.

They also have this AWESOME chicken karrage salad. The chicken karrage comes also comes over rice. It's basically Japanese fried chicken. But the salad version is the chicken over a salad with this awesome dressing. I asked them if they'd let me in on the recipe for the dressing, but it's a trade secret so they couldn't. :(

The service is always good. The people are nice.

Anyways, great place. Great food. Nice people.

Don't get teriyaki

by porkbun at Citysearch

I love this restaurant! Great service! One time, the staff was so apologetic (long wait, one order never delivered) they gave us a complimentary dish and extra ice cream! Now THAT'S what I call customer service!

I've tried several dishes and they're all great. However, I really didn't like the chicken teriyaki. It tasted like they just took some frozen pieces and heated it in the microwave.

  • Pros: Service, Food
  • Cons: Chicken Teriyaki

This place is a good place to celebrate anything with a large crowd. The space is big and they are extremely accomodating. The food isn't bad either. Their chicken kara aga is the best! The portions are big and you are always full when you leave this place. And they will always serve you with some sort of dessert. It is a family owned business and they are all friendly. Sometimes there is a wait, particularly for Friday and Saturday dinners. The customers are a mix crowd. Families patronize this place, and it is definitely a hot spot for young folks (i.e. older teenagers to twenty something year olds)... I see them there often.

  • Pros: Value, Space, Service
  • Cons: The wait

Good Food

by foodielover at Citysearch

The original restaurant was a couple of blocks east on Noriega and then they relocated to the current storefront about 2yrs ago, we found the quality of the meals to be just as good with much more seating. It's popular on weekends, requiring reservations. They offer a variety of foods & large portions. The sushi's not one of the best in town but is satisfactory. My family enjoy their Tonkatsu and Chicken Karaage. Their tempura batter is a bit hard and crunchy as I prefer a lighter batter. We eat here often as well as take-out. They provide miso soup and ice cream in styrofoam cups when you order the take-out dinners. Around Valentine's Day, they'll give the adult females in the dinner party a rose to take home. The wait staff are very nice and accomodating. Their prices recently increased in the past 6mos, but still worth it.

  • Pros: good food, large crowd seating, good for kids
  • Cons: , long lines

Great New Place

by gteach at Citysearch

Noriega Teriyaki House has great food, generous portions and great service. Kid friendly, my children love the chicken katsu. The menu is diverse and will satisfy all from meat eater to vegetarian. Check out their catering party trays. Have not had one yet but they seem like a super deal pricewise, I already know the food is good!

  • Pros: good prices, great food
