Trader Sams Geary and 23rd s.f. ca. I have been to Trader Sams during the before lunch crowd, the after work crowd, and the "we are out for the night crowd" that is the only three times I have been there... the first two times were nice and quiet ( a little too quiet if your looking for action) but if your looking for a nice mellow drink after work, or a cocktail before walking down to the Hard Knox Cafe a block down the street, it is a nice place to sit and rest after a bus ride on the 38 limited from the noise of the downtown city area. One Saturday night we walked back from the Pacific Cafe, around 8 or 9 at night.. I don't know how we got so lucky, but we got the only two seats at the bar just as we walked in! It was a surprise to see how many bartenders, customers, exotic drinks, and lively people were there. probably would have just walked across the street and got back on the bus to downtown if those two seats were not right there waiting for us,, and we were really glad we stayed... fun to watch! and a safe trip home on the muni allowed us to stay for a couple of more drinks!

Interesting Place. A Tiki bar, very original decore, and good ambience makes this place a great little hangout, kind of romantic cuz you get your own little booths. but this place is cash only.

Wild weekend crowds jam this terrifically tacky tiki bar in the Outer Richmond.. In Short
By day and during the week, this is a quiet neighborhood space. It opens early to serve locals drinks around the semi-curcular bar, while sports play on the TVs. Come weekend nights (and the weekend starts on Thursday), this place is jam-packed with people from every neighborhood in town looking to get wild. The crowd is young and a bit frat-like, but they sure know how to have a good time.
