Lucky Visitor. I would have never found this place were it not for my friend, who used to live in San Francisco, taking us here.

The atmoshpere is great, the service amazing and the food is really good. I'm going to Thailand in December, and then I'll be more qualified to judge its authenticity. However, we had lots of seafood (my wife doesn't eat meat), and it was pretty darned good.

Not Bad, All Things Considered. True, the main draw of Khan Toke is the atmosphere -- removing your shoes, sitting on pillows, and eating at low tables. The food itself is okay to good, depending on what you order. However, when compared to all of the other hole-in-the-wall Thai restaurants in SF with higher prices, absolutely no atmosphere, and comparable (or so-so) food, I still prefer going to Khan Toke. I had a Thai boyfriend for 9 years, and have eaten at wonderful Thai restaurants in L.A., Chicago, and Honolulu, but am still searching for one in SF that is better than okay.

Thai Me Up Thai Me Down. The best Thai in town!! I go here frequently, have never waited more than a minute or two for a seat, the food is excellent, spicy scallops my favorite, the service is good and friendly. Very comfortable restaurant, seated on the floor without shoes makes it VERY comfortable. Great place for a date.

Spend your money somewhere else... This place is a classic example of a gimmick achieving success to a t. So they have you sit in traditional fashion, with your shoes off...I'm not against that. Whats amazing is that quality of food, compared with some of the other truly better Thai places, gets completely overlooked. why? because at khan toke, we get to smell each other's foot odor, and that alone deserves a 10, right? The funny thing is that the staff seems to think they're god's gift to Thai cuisine because people show up every day. Even if you like the ambiance they've somehow managed to create, good Thai food and a smile may be a tall order for them.

MMMMM MMMM. the atmosphere and food are fantastic, and this is on of the least expensive restaurants we have been to in SF. top of our list of places to take friends from out of town.

Thai food with style. If you wish to have a complete experience of Thai food than this is the place. You have to take off your shoes when you dine at this fine restaurant. The food, ambience and the service are the best.
