Pasta Like Cafeteria Food. This place is just overrated. Sure, their prices are cheap, as most dishes are under $13 but you get what you pay for. We had two pasta entrees since it's an Italian restaurant. My husband had the LINGUINE ALLA CARBONARA which is supposed to have pancetta, instead it was just a few sprinkles of bacon-bits on top. I had the PARPADELLE DELLA FATTORIA and the red sauce reminded me of the the spaghetti sauce from the school cafeteria, and the chicken was shredded chicken with no flavor. They did have good Ciabatta bread but unfortunately, they served it with butter...would've been good with olive oil.

Great Food. The food couldn't get any better!!! super great tasty food. However the service was REALLY bad. There were 2 waiters, and when we arrived they both looked at us with a nasty face, but i didnt give up because of the food. It took them like 20 minutes to finally come serve us. It was as if no one wanted to be there, they didnt smile, and seemed very agitated, as if they wanted to go home, which made us very unconfortable. Also it is a very small place so big parties would not be a good idea. But anyway the service was awful but the food was great!

We love this place!. After a friend recommended Mescolanza, my boyfriend and I decided to try it out and couldn't have been happier with our experience! The staff is wonderful and the food is worth going back for... immediately! We've been 3 times in two weeks!

Keeping it simple.... I have eaten here 3 times and each time was a superb dining experience. The waitstaff is professional, courteous and accommodating. The food was simple and delicious. The place is a little on the small side, but not claustrophobic. It is intimate, quiet and romantic, good for dates. I would love to keep this place a secret, but I appreciate it so much I had to write this review. They keep things simple there and simple is good.

Keep this our little secret. We read the reviews and wanted to check it out. At first I thought the waiter was a bit stiff but he was extremely accomodating and definitely won us over. My girlfriend wanted a simple pasta dish that wasn't on the menu but they gladly prepared it anyway and it was great. My sea bass w/ spinach & diced tomato was excellent, you could really taste the freshness of the ingredients, like each item on the plate was there for a reason. The restaurant is has a simple elegance, and very reasonably priced for SF. We'd love to come back.

Horrible Service. I do Not remember the last time I had such horrible service. We got there at 630pm.. The atmosphere was nice, but a bit on the crowded, slight claustophobic side. After seated we were left alone for 15 to 20 min, and we had to flag a server down to order drinks. After ordering drinks and food we waited 50 min to an hour finally getting our food at 7:45-7:50. Although it was crowded, people who came well after us were already getting their food. We felt ignored the entire time, we didn't know if we even had a server or if we just flagged down the servers walking by us. Although we fought the urge to be blatantly rude back to them (so that our food would be safe to eat), without hesitation we left No tip on our $60 bill

Good Place. This is a great place, especially for a special occasion or a romantic date. The one thing I want to add is that the Italian portions are not huge like at most places (I like this because some places give you way too much food). Otherwise I generally agree with the other posters that the food and service are good.

wonderful food. The food here is as good as everyone says it is! The pasta was fresh and very well seasoned -- my only complaint would be the steamed mussells that was the "weekly special" was quite small and the size and meat in the mussells was rather pathetic. But other than that, it was lovely and the atmosphere was romantic!

Excellent dining experience. I chose this restaurant for an Anniversary and it could not have been more perfect! The ambience, service, and food quality were more than impressive. Prices were very reasonable, as well. The location and parking were just right and Mescolanza is a place I would highly recommend for a pleasant night in the city. I will definitely be going back!
