Irish Bar for Cinco de Mayo. Who goes to an Irish bar for Cinco de Mayo?!?! I do!! Our group enjoyed SEVERAL coronas in honor of the holiday. Blarney even had a special mexican bbq with tacos and chips and salsa! It was the best spot to be! I'll definitely be back next year, and probably a few times in between!
Richmond's best dive bar!. The drinks served up at this bar are strong enough to put hair on your chest. The music is consistently really good. They have a dj every weekend and he plays a wide variety of music. This is a great place to meet some authentic Irish. They are all here at the Blarney Stone. The best thing about this place is you can come and do your thing without worry. Ooh and there's darts! Great all around place.
Get drunk cheap and dance till you sweat!. I absolutely love the Blarney! The ambiance is dark wood and classic, the all-Irish all-female bartenders rock and there's a large beer garden out back which is all too rare these days. None of that even compares to the DJ though. It's usually the same guy and he rocks it out! He totally takes requests and he'll play ANYTHING you want to hear. He played tracks from Grease for my girlfriends and I. How cool is that!? Definitely recommend this place. It's a guaranteed good time!
worse bar experiance. I was recently a patron at Blarney Stone and I was very unhappy with the whole experience. First of all the bartenders where unfriendly and gave poor service to the patrons. You couldn't turn around without someone ready to spill their drink on you, but most of all the management. I went their in expectations to see one of my favorite local bands; however the owner changed his mind after many hours of having us wait. I thought it was very unprofessional and I will never go their again.
Pucker Up!. This place is a great little joint in the RIchmond... i was there on a tuesday night, and there were few people there, so the service was friendly and fast... and there's a great patio in the back complete with sofas... be forewarned that the new address is 5625 Geary! Nice place to hang with friends.
Nothing fancy, but it works. In the old days, the Blarney was so thick with smoke that it was hard to breathe. Now, the air is better -- but the food and drink are still solid. Srop in for Sunday brunch and try and black and white pudding.
