No heart at all.. DIM SUM, which means "small heart, " is at the heart of this review.

My mother, my teen son and I were having dim sum at about 10:30 AM on Sat, Sept. 4, 2010. Suddenly, my son developed hives all over his face and neck. We assumed that it was something that he ate (he hadn't eaten anything that day until the restaurant). I rushed him to a drugstore for benadryl. After taking it, we returned to the restaurant. I approached the owner--he is the one who stands at the cashier area--and told him I'm a frequent visitor to his restaurant. I told him what happened and asked him about the ingredients because it would be good to have some idea of the allergen, e.g. was it the shrimp, do they use oyster sauce, do they put crab meat in some of the diim sum items? He seemed put off but answered my questions. He didn't ask exactly which dishes we ordered, which could easily be done by checking our bill. (I had to ask him to look at our bill to see what dishes we ate.) I was shocked that he never expressed any concern about my son, and even though I asked him to talk with him directly about what he might've eaten (my son was sitting with my mother in a booth), he refused to leave the cashier area. He said, "he can come to talk to me."

He didn't show a shred of concern about the health and welfare of a customer. We will never return to this restaurant and I will be sure to share this story with friends and colleagues. The literal translation of dim sum is "small heart." In this case, they demonstrated their lack of any heart at all.

Beest Dim Sum. The best Dim Sum I have had. It was as great as Dim Dum at the Sheraton Towers & Hotel in Hong Kong. The food was fresh and delicious. Wait for an upstairs seat as downstairs looked crammed. Service was great. Highly recommend this place.

pricy, right?. We ordered crispy whole fried fish that costed $20.  Wow, pricy, right?

Also ordered crispy fried skinny noodles with vegetables, white rice (and we received a very stingy portion), sizzling rice vegetarian soup (big mistake, seafood version is loads better), and egg custard tarts.  They gave 3 tarts per order, but by goodness were they tiny!  3 tarts combined is still less and smaller than 1 normal sized tart.

Our bill was disproportionally larger than expected from a Chinese restaurant.  We could have eaten Japanese with top of the line sushi at those rates.  An hour later, we were hungry again.

Last night's dinner was a stand-out. Miraculously!. I've eaten here several times, but last night's dinner was a stand-out. Miraculously!

We ordered Sizzling Rice Soup, deep fried taro and potsticker dim sum, a fried noodle dish with veggies and roast pork, white rice, and a mushroom with okra dish.

All were very good! A very good thing too is that a lot of the food was quite al dente, especially the vegetables, so you don't get the feeling the stuff has been sitting around for a while.

Terrible!. I have never written a review before but my family had the worst experience here with the owner that I have to say something about this place. We didn't even dine in, but ordered take out. Since we made a large order, we wanted to check and make sure everything we ordered was included and nothing was missing. The owner (or I'm assuming he was) wouldn't even let us check our order. He rudely told us everything is there, and if something was missing he will cover the cost. Since we couldn't check our order, we took the food and left. When we got home, we realized in fact they did forget one of our orders. We called back to let him know, and he accused us of being dishonest and hung up on us. What AWFUL ATTITUDE, SERVICE, AND BLATANT DISRESPECT TOWARDS CUSTOMERS! And the food was just OK. We will never give this restaurant our business again!

Some of Best Chinese Food Around.. Superb food, great atmosphere. I grew up in the city and I have to say, this is some of the best chinese food I've had in a while. I'm not sure if they use msg, but the stuff tastes amazing and doesn't have any hint of that excessive greasiness you find at other places. The mongolian beef was tender, juicy - cooked just right. My personal favorite, however, was the shrimp with glazed walnuts. Hot and sour soup was just that, HOT and sour. My one suggestion would be to dine in - I ordered from them recently and some of the soup had spilled out onto the rest of the food :(

Great Dim Sum, but pricey. Well I tried Ton Kiang and thought it was great. Just like any restuarant, there are things that are left to be desired and things that were spot on. First, my party and I went about three o'clock on a saturday. Turns out it was a great time to go. We had to park a couple streets west of ton kiang but it wasnt bad. When we sat down we were bombarded with dim sum. It was good and bad. Good because we got a lot of differant dim sum quickly, bad, because we felt like it was kind of crammed down our throats. Pork buns, mushroom and shrimp dumpling, pork dumplings, roast duck, scallop and shrimp dumplings were out of this world. Everything else was good. I can say that everything we ate seemed to be very fresh and tasty. Some of the wait staff was very kind and some made you feel as if you bugging them, however I think you will find this at most dim sum restuarants that have a lot of turn around. It cost us about $85.00 dollars, which was a little expensive. On the flip side everything was good with some things outstanding. Good luck, and good eating.
