Highly recommended!. I must agree with the other reviews. Very good food, service and ambiance is really nice to spend an afternoon with your girlfriend. The very best exhibits grace these doors and the food is just a dessert to all that candy.

I visited this place about 8 visits so far this year and really never a negative experience. Highly recommended!

They apparently also offer reservations.. The last time I've been to this museum was maybe 1-2 years ago. I took my wife there to view a pottery exhibit. Most of the time, the museum offers a variety of interesting art from all over the world. Just beware that weekends are the most crowded days, and the lines can get dauntingly long. They apparently also offer reservations, so we'll definitely take advantage of this in the future.

Culture in SF. This place is a hidden gem in San Francisco. I've lived in SF for 6 years and just recently came here!! We saw the Annie Lebowitz exhibit here and it was beautiful. The outside of the site is breathtaking! I can see why so many couple get their wedding photos here!

Beautiful museum!. This museum is absolutely gorgeous and the views from the museum are spectacular! The exhibits are always impressive. The only bad thing is that the lines can be really, really long.

Four thousand years of European art under one roof.. The Scene
European tapestries, Rodin sculpture and reproductions of room interiors from the Middle Ages to the 20th century permanently fill this Lincoln Park museum Terrific modern art exhibitions--featuring heavy hitters such as Picasso, O'Keefe and Toulouse-Lautrec--frequently pass through here to boot. The Achenbach Foundation collection, a stylistic kaleidoscope-cum-treasure trove of some 70,000 works on paper is also a sight to see.

The Collection
After undergoing a major mid-'90s renovation, the Palace's neoclassic beaux-arts building looks better than ever. The subterranean, skylit Roeskrans Court is arguably the best space for exhibiting sculpture in the Bay Area. Legion of Honor's acoustically ideal Florence Gould Theatre seats 300 and echoes with jazz and chamber music.

Best Museum in the City. I have been to the Legion of Honor several times and have really enjoyed it each and every time. Ive been to museums in Europe and this Fine Arts Museums collection and exhibits are the closest in comparison to any European collection as there is on the West Coast. Im not big on Modern Art so I dont understand why locals fuss over MOMA, for art you can actually admire the Legion is the place to visit.

Wonderful place. A wonderful place to visit, with outstanding art displays not to mention the great view of the Golden Gate bridge from a part of the grounds. Well worth a visit

Palace is Right. The setting and architecture of this museum are a huge part of the attraction here. The permanent collection isn't especially remarkable, and the exhibits often follow suit. However, the building itself, and the beautiful grounds are well worth a visit. The museum is nestled atop the high ocean cliffs just south of the Golden Gate Bridge, offering exquisite views of the bridge and the spectacular Marin Headlands to the north. The building was designed to replicate a specific French castle, of which I can't remember the name. I do know, however, that it is a beautiful building, with its marble tile, Roman columns and expansive courtyards. As I said, definitely worth a visit.
