Good Price but Cheap = Not a Day at the Spa and Tipping. Ok so its good cheap but they didn't like my 27% tip I only gave them $15 on a $45 massage. It wasn't a obvious omg he only gave me $15 but it wasn't meet with appreciation or perhaps the person's limited english skills were at play. Over all the massage was good, professional, and I can't complain. I subtracted a star because this is like a three star hotel not a 5 star hotel so not fancy but functional.
Can't believe therapists asked for a Bigger $Tip.
I've gone to Clement Stress Reduction Center about dozen times between 2008-2009 and maybe once or twice I've gotten a massage that really relieve the pain & tension. The only good thing I have to say about them is no waiting even without an appointment and the prices are reasonable. This is about the best I think most will agree.
After my last visit (because I received another gift certificate from family & friends), I will not return again. Not only was did the massage not do the trick after I mentioned to the therapists that my left shoulder was aching, but after I finished, I gave her a $10 tip (20% as this is the typical minimum that I give all therapists), she said "whaaat?" I asked if there was something wrong and she said "I usually get minimum $20 tip!" I could not believe what I heard where she was not happy with a 20% tip.
I wished I had read yelp reviews earlier... I would have never come back seeing that yelp member rave about 2 other massage clinics that are close by to this one. If you want a bad experience, then try out this place, otherwise, stay away!!!
Kick-Assi Deep Tissue!!!!!!!!!. Deep tissue massage like no other place I have visited. NOT a high-end spa - if you are looking for a nice spa experience, look elsewhere. If you need your body to be treated like a beef carcass in Rocky, this place will beat the crappe out of you and you'll like it. The intensity of the massage is sometimes too great, but the therapists will moderate at your request. The negative review here is unwarranted - they compared apples to oranges. There are plenty of beautiful spas in the city that provide great massage in luxurious settings - come here for real muscle therapy without the frills. You won't be sorry you came!
pretty damn good for so cheap. a massage in sf for $45...seems sketch, but i thought id give it a shot. i mean afterall i saw the tiny asain lady who was gonna massage me and figured nothing too bad could happen. i must say i was quite pleased with the overall massage. for such a little lady she packed some serious muscle, but not to the point of painful-at times it was the good painful. also, towards the end she left for a couple minutes and came back with hot towels which she used to wipe me down so i didnt have oil everywhere. the joint was not too spiffy, but not extremely gheto. yes they do ask for the money before, which is kinda unusual and a little tacky, but oh well. overall, id say if you not a total snob about appearances, give it a shot!
not worth even 45$. well, this place is no modern day spa atmoshere! There was no discussion on the level of pressure for my massage or where to focus for more releif. there was not pre-discussion what so ever! I did the 1 hour and half massage which she ended 10 minutes early and durring that time my arms fell asleep and were cramped. I was aching all over my body while she focussed on my back for about 30 minutes straight!. She hit spots on back that only made matters worse on my shoulders. The next day i was in pain and felt cramped.I felt obligated to tip 10$ and did so without any thanks or generosity. It was very unplesent. Which i thought was strange when asking for payment upfront before my massage, that threw me off and I should have ran away right then and there
The BEST Deep Tissue Massage. Experts in deep tissue massage disciplines, this place is by far the best value on REAL deep tissue massage anywhere in the city. Fairly worn, but clean and quiet nonetheless. Not a "nice" downtown spa, but rather a serious massage studio. If you prefer a spa environment, you may not be able to get past the decor.
Good Value. I've been to lots of massage therapy places, and the center is pretty good-- the price is relatively affordable, and I truly recommend the massage I had (a combination of Thai massage and deep tissue). The atomosphere isn't so great however. The room I was in looked a bit cheap and rough. But I was more dissappointed when my masseuse ended it 10 min. before it was supposed to end. (so practically I had an hour and 20 min. massage when supposed to be an hour and half.) But overall I do recommend it and I plan to go back there in future.
