Weekly trivia night is a perfect date idea. Take a first date to an Irish Pub? I know it sounds random, but stay with me. It's casual, it's usually full of happy people and there are things to do to prevent that awkward silence - pool, darts and pinball. The weekly trivia night is a great way to impress a date. Even if you don't know the answers, it's a unique way to spend your first few hours together and you're sure to have fun. Plus, if the date stinks you can always join another group!

I just can't pass by the Pig & Whiste wihout grabbing a bite and a Boddington. MMMMM I wish I was not in Denver!. I love this place, free darts, pool in the back, good food until 10pm. I recommend the fish and chips. I believe this is a English pub not Irish as the other comments said, but I could be wrong. I have always found the patrons to be friendly and the staff very helpful. I live right up the street so, I would say this is not a place to bring a date because you would have 30 drunken Irish and English chaps hitting on her as the guy to girl ratio is pretty bleak. For my local spot this is it! Good luck trying to get them to turn on the Giants or Warriors if their is Soccer on. Soccer, GEESH.

Great neighborhood bar!. I went to the Pig the other night for the first time. We played a little darts and pool. The bartender was really nice (I think he was the owner) and the beer is cheap! $4 for a pale ale. It's a great place to hang out with friends.

A British-style pub in Laurel Heights with an international crowd.. In Short
This down-home spot has hunting bugles on the wall and ska bands on the jukebox--there's even a picture of a pig drinking beer, hung behind the bar like an employee-of-the-month. For sport, there's a dartboard and billiards table in the back room. In addition to a bevy of tap beers, there's also a food menu with items like shepherd's pie and black pudding.

Good place to start the night!. The P&W is probably the best bar in the world to have on your street, but not somewhere I'd recommend making a special visit. For the past couple of years, it's been a staple in the before-we-go-out activities-- a place to get the drinks going-- but not really somewhere I'd consider as a final destination. The food is good, there's punk and ska in the jukebox, and darts are free. Just don't expect to show up and meet your future spouse here by any stretch-- bad guy/girl ratio.

Great place to chill. I love this place! Sometimes on the weekends it can get crowded, but the food is great and the service is the best. Even when it is crowded it is a fun crowd. Go and you will feel like a regular

Swig and Pissle. Great for early-afternoon boozing and brunching, although the back pool room is intimidating and one can rarely find a seat. Stop by the billiards place next door ...
