But all in all, they're alright.. No ambiance whatsoever. But if you want to get decent thai food to pick up and bring home, they're great!! They never fail with these dishes: chile basil chicken/beef, papaya salad, corn cakes, green curry, larb salad, and roasted duck soup. If you want extra vegetables, you totally have to pay extra though. You could still get stiffed, so you definitely have to check your order. Since it's a chain, some King of Thai Noodle House's are better than others. But all in all, they're alright.
Best Pad Kee Mao in SF, maybe the USA!. I have been going to the King Of Thai Noodle House on Clement between 7th and 8th for 10 years and I have not gotten tired of the Pad Kee Mao (or "number 17" as I affectionately call it). It is just simply the best Thai noodle dish I have had outside of Thailand and it is consistently great. Go and get it!
Great Food. The salespeople did not even acknowledge me the whole time I was there! I am a serious customer, ready to buy. I decided to take my business elsewhere where my business would be appreciated. Also, this place is limited as only sells bathroom fixtures.
A no-frills mini-chain serving standard Thai fare to neighborhood crowds..
In Short
With spare, comfortable dining rooms and expansive Thai menus, this local chain has developed a loyal clientele. Popular dishes--pad thai, sour tom yum gai soup, satay and spring rolls--are offered along with a list of more elaborate plates, such as stir-fried glass noodle with chicken or seafood. Fresh rice noodle soups are seasoned with cilantro, onions and chili paste, and stocked with vegetables and beef, seafood or roasted duck.
Thai food at 1am!. I love restaurants that opens late. There are just not enough of them in such vibrant city. King of Thai is one of them, and their food is very tasty.
Yummy!. I love coming here and can't get enough. It is the best quality Thai food In all of the Bay area. I have coming here since 1995 or 96 and they use simple, fresh ingredients and it's quickly served and steaming to order. I love it and hope they never change thier philosophy. Pad Thai is great, so is Kao Prik Sod and I get mine with a fried egg on top. Definitely a bang for your buck! Can't go wrong with Ton Kha Gai either.
genius. This is as close as it gets to the streetvendors of Bangkok. How close is it? Not that close, truth be told, but this is as close as it gets. Amazing value for the food.
Awesome food, even better price. For this prices listed, King of Thai is definitely an awesome place to get delicious and cheap Thai food. Love the soy-sauce, stirfired fat noodles with chicken! My friends and I frequently visit this restaurant, as we are always happy after our meal! Definitely a great, chill place to eat
Zero. This place is WAY at the bottom of the list of Thai restaurants in S.F. They should have made the original one have good, original food before opening up the satellites downtown.
