Family establishment established in my heart.
I never had eaten Thai food before going to Tawans. Afterwards, i was completely sold on Thai. I have been to many Thai restaurants in SF since my first experience, and I still feel that Tawans is the best. I keep coming back!

charming, delicious, simple.
I had my first meal at Tawan tonight and I'll be back! The decor and menus were simple and charming with the owners' son's artwork. The food was excellent. The service was attentive and cheerful. I must say, the menus are so well done that it seemed to me that Tawan must be a franchise. But no, this is a family business and one that deserves the patronage of anyone who loves great Thai food in San Francisco!

Got to try their crab cake..
A Thai friend of my recommend their crab cake. I did and like it every since. We don't agree on every dishs but we do like many of them. For example, she's not too crazy about their papaya salad, but I happens to love theirs the most out of all other Thai restaurants. If they are not too busy, they usually trys to cook to your liking. Since this place is pretty small, I suggest going between rush hours.

stumbled upon this place.
My friend and I were walking up Geary one night looking for take-out, and Tawan's cute decor, occupied tables, and low menu prices caught our eyes. We both ordered noodles - choosing something rather than pad thai, i ordered the sauteed rice stick noodles with meat and basil - which were tasty and a big portion for $7 a dish. I can't wait to go back and try their other dishes.

Best Thai in the city!.
This is the absolute best Thai restaurant in all of San Francisco. It is small but efficiently run by this family. The dishes are excellent. I've literally had them all and not one has dissapointed. The service is great and the pricing is super cheap. You'll love the pad thai, pinneaple fried rice, any soup or salad, the chicken/crab cakes, and the sweet sticky rice with mango (seasonal). We love this restaurant so much we take everyone we know there. Oh, and I've bought many little trinquets from this place (paintings, jewelry, belts) which are made by Tawan, the owners' little boy, in his free time.

Best Thai Food Ever.
This place is adorable and cozy. Tawan is the elementary school aged son of the restaurant owner and his art work (imaginative drawings of creatures, etc) adorns the walls and menu. The vegetarian options are plentiful. The red curry is the best I've had and the veggie dish with basil is yummy too. I've never left Tawan's unsatisfied.

The Best.
Tawan's is BY FAR the best thai food in the city. Everytime I go there the dishes are wonderful and the service is fast and attentive. Plus the price as a steal for the amount and quality of food prepared.
