In Short
This is your typical no-frills joint with fans overhead (but fewer than the original Brother's at 4128 Geary Blvd.) and wonderfully tacky Korean travel posters. Whether you choose a hearty soup (served in a cast-iron bowl with rice) or barbecue, you get 13 different accompanying mini-dishes of everything from kimchee to pickled diakon to sliced fish cake, each a tasty combination of tastes and textures. If you do go for the barbecue, you can cook food on the grill at your table or have the kitchen prepare it for you. Traditionally, diners place cooked meats into whole butter-lettuce leaves, add the accompaniments of their choice, then roll and enjoy. For those who don't opt for the charred meats, there is also an extensive menu of Korean staples like bi bim bop and a selection of panfried fishes.

A lot of times, the wait is waaay shorter for this restaurant, but the food is just as excellent too. Moreover, the service is actually so much better because I suppose they have to kick it up a notch to be the same or better than the orig so they can bring something else to the table. so EXCELANTE, the customer wins on this one, all the way! BTW, I also wrote a review on Brother's Korean I (or the orig).

It does not deserve a single star. Cannot give any rating with a clear conscience. The worst Korean food anywhere. It is an insult to Korean cuisine. Highly over-rated. I wonder who has been rating this restaurant. Perhaps the owner's friends and/or relatives? Previously rated as the best Kalbi in town, it did not come even close to mediocre. The Bulgogi was dry and flavorless. No heat and our request for heat was turned down with a smile by the waitress. Lacks any form of ambience. Since we were two of only four customers at the time, there was plenty of waiting staff but no proper service. We weren't offered any drinks nor was the tea refilled. Maybe the other Brothers Restaurant might be better but I am not about to find out. Save your time and money. Stay away from this place.

There are two Brothers restaurants within three blocks of each other. We have been told that only Brothers 2 has the grills where you can cook it yourself. Order and within 60 seconds you have over a dozen sides in front of you. Hot coals are brought to your grill followed quickly by the meat-- and HAVE AT IT!!! If you go during peak meal periods you have to fight for a table... finally had to pipe up when people started trying to take our table (no one was taking names and the lobby was packed). Go during the afternoon!!! Everytime we've gone we've gotten 1-2 items "on the house." Last time Grandpa came out of the back with sodas for everyone at the table. Can get pricy, just know that if you go at the right time, a lot of freebies may be included!!
