What Our Expert Scouts Say

Old school pizzeria and by that I mean checkered tablecloths and plastic grapes hanging from the ceiling. Like stepping back in time and the pizza is as good as it ever was.

A quintessential New York style pizzeria, right down to the red checkered tablecloths, Giorgio's is the spot to hit up if you're jonesing for a great NY slice. And since even a half-decent NY slice is hard to find in SF, this place is worth the trip out to the Richmond.

User review by beccamiller. I recently ate at Giorgios and found the food perfect as usual. Having grown-up in San Francisco I have eaten Giorgios food my entire life- and this time by far, was the best. I had the Mediterranean Salad and G-Chicken calzone--these are two new items that blew me away!!! Although the servers may seem young, they are attentive, friendly, and helpful when you have a question. I can't wait to go back.

pizza not up to my taste. My girlfriend introduced me to Giorgios about a year ago, and the only reason I still go there is the salad. Their large antipasto salad is one of my favorite salads anywhere, with excellent dressing and tasty olives, cheese, salami, and peprocinis.

The pizza on the otherhand is not up to my taste. I find the sauce bland, the crust too thin (I like a nice thick, chewey crust) and yoppings lackluster. My girlfriend on the other hand, loves their pizza, so if you are a fan of overly saucy thin crusted pizza, you may like it.

I also had their raviolis once and would swear they came out of a chef boyardee can.

Overall, the service is quite good and I've only had to wait for a seat once (less than 5 minutes). Their salad is worth driving across the city, but their pizza leaves something to be desired

With its warm, festive atmosphere and traditional thin-crust pizza, this Inner Richmond eatery attracts a loyal following.. Convivial doesn't begin to describe the atmosphere at this boisterous Clement Street gathering place. Little League teams, drinking buddies, extended families, teens on dates--all end up at this pizzeria, and often all at one time, too. The decor is built to take a beating, with sturdy booths, red-checked vinyl tablecloths and a jukebox stuffed full of '70s-era favorites and Top 40 hits. Giant, old-school pizzas topped with the basics (no new age, "gourmet" ingredients like arugula or pine nuts here) clutter each table, and strings of mozzarella extend from each hot pan directly into diners' hungry mouths.

Best Pizza in SF. I've gone through a lot of crappy pizza since moving to this town, and I'm so happy my friends took me here--to the only good, real pizza in the Bay Area! And the calzones have made just as many fans as the pizza. In addition, the prices are reasonable and the waitstaff is friendly, which are, I think, some of the reasons you'll actually see families with little kids here.

Excellent Pizza / Great for families. If you are looking for a great place for families, look no further than Giorgio's. Pizza is great, service is great, and kids are welcomed. Don't miss out on the anitpasto salad - even my three year old loves the dressing! Parking can be problematic, so arrive before six to beat the rush.

Da Best!!!!. This is hands down, bar none, without-a-dought, the best Pizza and best atmosphere for a classic Itallian-American pizza place.

Best non-yuppie pizza in S.F.. While most of CA is filled with bland chains, and "extreme yuppie pizza type foods" Giorgio's serves up traditional neighborhood pizza like one would find back east. The menu is straight forward, the pizza is tasty thin crust Italian style with fresh traditional toppings, and a few CA style toppings offered like artichoke hearts and feta.

Not in the mood for pie? Try a very filling calzone or the hearty comfort food style eggplant parm. College co-eds dominate the service staff and are always pleasent and work as a team to serve you efficiently.

Pizza Heaven. I've been eating in this restaurant's sister in San Francisco for many. many years. The pizza is divine yet reasonably priced. You always get an excellent pizza (we always get the pepperoni, sausage, mushroom pizza). This Giorgio's is just as good.
