What People Are Saying About Blue Danube

A mish-mash of comfortable, worn-in thrift store furniture, tables topped with colorful paintings and rotating art on the walls give this snug spot a homey vibe. A chalkboard lists coffee and tea drinks, along with breakfast wraps and thick sandwiches like the rosemary chicken on focaccia. For a more leisurely vibe, stop by at night (rather than, say, weekend brunch) for pints and the occasional live music or open mic set.
Awesomely chill and yummy local cafe...

I recently discovered this cute little cafe on Clement, since my friend just moved to the area. Independently owned (I like to support the little guys), it has a pleasant, homey, chill-out vibe. The staff is friendly, fitting the whole relaxed, neighborhood-y feel of the place.
They have scrumptious sandwiches and all kinds of smoothies. My favorite is their French toast, with distinctive caramelized apple pieces -- I'd eat it any time of day! Blue Danube is the perfect hangout place to settle in with my book and grab a coffee and munchies.
- Pros: Comfy atmosphere, Great coffee and food at decent price
A coffee house like home!!!

Friendly staff, great tea selection and I just love the decor in this coffee house. There are few couches and 3 computers you can use. The place is a bit crowded during rainy day. A great place to hang out w/ friends or by youself with a good book!!
- Pros: Decor, Selection of Teas, Staff
- Cons: Too Crowded
Nice little Clement Street spot for coffee

This place is small, comfy, hip and inviting. The coffee is decent, the food is excellent, and the decoration is unusual and interesting. I like the hand-painted tables. Not a lot of space, but they use it very well.
- Pros: Comfortable, Good atmosphere, Inexpensive
- Cons: Small, Gets too full to sit
The Details on Blue Danube

Though the Richmond District isn't known for its warm, sunny days, the sidewalk tables are usually snatched up quickly.
When to Go:
The cafe's proximity to Burma Superstar makes it a popular and convenient place to grab a drink while you wait for a table (the restaurant will call you when it's your turn).
