Tips for California Sewing & Vacuum

1.0
October 29, 2008

Scammed. I had my vaccum cleaner repaired at this store. I was over charged and verbally abused. Two weeks later the vacuum cleaner stops working. I basically over paid to not have the vacuum fixed. I must have paid extra for the lip that the sales woman gave me when I told her she charged me for services that were not required. I told her that Miele USA even advised me against getting the repairs completed at her store. Now I need to bring it back to them. She basically told me not to come back to the store again. I am forced to since the problem was not corrected. maybe I should eat the loss and take my vacuum elsewhere.

UPDATE 2009:

I had to take my vacuum cleaner to the shop again, because it stopped working all together. I brought the vacuum cleaner in and told the repair shop that the cord was replaced a few months ago, but the power was intermittent. I requested that a new cord be put in. I just picked up the vacuum cleaner today and it workd perfectly. The repair shop said the cord in my vacuum cleaner was the original cord, and that it was never replaced. It was zip tied in place to prevent it from shifting instead of being replaced. The zip tie caused the cord reel inside the vacuum cleaner to become bent. The repairman said the reel would need to be replaced at a cost of $150.

California Sewing and vacuum never replaced the cord and they did a sub-standard repair job. On top of this they charged me for replacement of my old cord. That is fraud! I am going to contact the owner to let him know that I do not appreciate them taking advantage of the situation. They are very dishonest. I am considering taking them to a small claims court. I have already written directly to Miele. They are truly a bunch of crooks. In this economy, one would not expect a business like this to commit such acts of fraudulent behavior. You need all the business you can get. Why drive the customers away??? Stay away from this place at all costs!!!!!
