Consistent comprehensive care. I've brought 6 pets here over a period of 15 years. We've seen mostly Dr Phillips and Dr Hazenow, but have seen the others at times. Sandy and Ken have drawn on their own extensive knowledge base, and have spent hours conducting research to make sure the diagnosis and treatment of our "furkids" is the most appropriate to their (and our) needs. They call back regularly to check on progress, and never miss making a call to report on test findings, etc. Although we've moved 115 miles away, we're still clients and patients.
Years of Great Service.
I've been taking our pets (4 dogs, 3 cats) to PW for 12 years, seeing primarily Dr Phillips and Dr Hazenow. They have provided consistently outstanding care. They take time to research unusual problems, consult with specialists, make referrals as needed, and hug, pet, and kiss their "patients". They explain the problems, the alternatives, and the costs, answering all our questions.
I've recommended them to my friends; none of them have been disappointed and all have become fans.
Parking can be a pain, and they aren't cheap (but I've heard of similar fees being charged by other practices, so I imagine they are not overpriced).
Thorough and Professional. My cat means the world to me but like so many people I don't have thousands of dollars to spend on him. Presidio Way at first comes across as a very costly place - located in upscale Laurel Village and frequented by some wealthy looking clientele. I was at first taken aback by some of the costs involved in my cats procedures - and it seemed like he needed a lot more done than I had initially imagined. BUT, soon after his dental operation he appeared vibrant and happy - not like his previous experience (with another vet) getting sick from the anesthesia and falling down all over the place. That alone impressed me very much. Dr. Hazanow came across as very knowledgable and explained exactly what needed to be done and why. Other places may be cheaper, but this place is top notch.
Choose wisely. I have a problem doggy. She has problems (>$38,000). I have gone to this hospital for a long time and I know the doctors. Stick with Dr. Moran. He loves animals and is the most caring and involved vet I have ever had the pleasure to deal with.
If you want the best for your pet, this is the place..
Front Desk Staff = Dedicated, Passionate and Professional
Doctors = Personally I have only seen Dr. Bloom, but he is amazing. I have never questioned my bill and if i did I know I would get any honest answer. This man is dedicated and a real pro.
Cost = Considering what measures are taken to ensure no mistakes are made, the cost is not as bad as people make it out to be. Just because you got your cat for $20, doesn't mean that their life is only worth that much. I adore all my pets and would no anything for them, even though I'm not a wealthy person. If you can't afford an animal (Food, Medical and Love), don't have one. If your not willing to do what it takes to care for them, don't be selfish. Veterinary medicine is as technical as people medicine and costs can reflect that.
Used Car Salesman in Vet Labs. Don't go here! The worst vet experience in my life. Brought my 10.5 year old golden retriever to have tumors looked at. All I got was completely unnecessary anal(anal is not a naughty word) gland removal, unnecessary ear cleaning, and unnecessary ear medication for $160. Didn't do I thing I asked them to do and only did things I directly asked them not to do. These are not vets they are absolute liars. They certainly didn't care about my dogs health, only how much money could they steal from me. Avoid this place!
Ask for Dr. Hazanow.
Some users expressed a concern over the extra costs for tests that they may have deemed unnecessary; my experience has not been the same. Our vet has never suggested tests or treatments that our dogs did not need. Dr. Sandy Hazanow is thorough without being extreme. She will determine what the client's interests are and work from there. She'll let you know the difference between a test/treatment that is necessary and those that may be optional, depending on your needs.
The staff has always been friendly and caring -- we especially appreciate all the support we had through our senior dog's final days before her passing and the sentiments we received from the staff afterward.
If you decide to make an appointment at Presidio Way, be sure to ask for Sandy - she'll treat your pet with all the love he or she deserves.
The best vet group ever. I have had my beloved dog for 7 years and we have had many emergencies (and non-emergencies that seemed like emergencies) during that time. As a result, I have been to countless vets getting care for my boy. I have never experienced more warmth, understanding, and skill as during our visits to Presidio Way. We have seen several of the vets (all fantastic), though Dr. Moran is our current vet. His down-to-earth nature puts you and your dog at ease immediately. He is thorough without being redundant, and he is always thinking about what is best for the situation at hand. The offices are clean and bright. The ladies up front are kind and informative. I can't say enough about the whole experience. Some vet clinics feel like factories. Presidio Way feels like going to a friend's home.
Dr Moran is the best. We've been taking our pets here for 3 years and Dr Moran has always been amazing. Whether it's for routine care or making some difficult decisions regarding our dog's plight with bone cancer, he has always been there for us. Now that we have a crazy puppy who has really been testing Dr Moran's patience (chewed off his cast 5 or 6 times) we wouldn't think of going anywhers else!
The best veterinary experience.
Presidio Way came highly reccomended by the specialists at SFVS. I called and got in the next day to see Dr. Moran . He was the kindest, most thorough vet I have ever had, explaining everything and taking time to answer my questions. I didn't feel "nickel and dimed" at all, in fact, he outlined his approach and made it work for my budget. My cat has kidney disease and I know it will be expensive but I am not made of money. The staff was sympathetic and I did not feel judged, like I have at other places. I feel like Milo is getting great personalized care by professionals that actually care about more than money. Dr. Moran gives us the best veterinary experience every time.
The one major drawback is parking - I found out you can park behind Laurel Village shopping center next door, for 90 minutes free. That helps a lot.
