When Fuzzy Irish Eyeballs Are Smiling. On first glance, this place looks like the place you went to in college with your fake ID, and still got served--it's big inside, with lots of TV screen room, with pool shooting, and the kind of bathrooms where punk rockers probably went to die (if it was a punk rock club). A lot of Irish locals can be found here, too, ironically; the booze is on the cheap. But like all Geary Irish Bars that wish they were Clement St. Irish Bars, it lacks true Irish charm, that just can't be filled unless it's St. Patrick's Day with a lot of green beer and late-night, drunken stare contests. It's a party, though. Especially on Friday and Saturday nights.
This Richmond District pub is filled with live music and pride for sports teams..
In Short
An early-30s crowd drops by after a day of window shopping or having dinner at one of the nearby Clement Street restaurants. The tavern shows all major sporting events, including boxing and UK sports. A fair number of college-aged lads come by on Friday and Saturday nights to get down, disco-style, while dancers of all stripes shimmy to a DJ or live music most other nights. Monday is trivia night.
Not so good anymore. This used to be a good place to go if you wanted to bring anyone. Now it's tougher to get certain age demographics in which takes away from the fun college bar. Thursday night does hae dollar beers and $5 pitchers but it's not like it was a year ago.
fun. Always thought it was just a "pub". I never knew this place was so fun. Friday nights play house music and the crowd is cheery. If you decide to go here, be sure to put on your dancing shoes.
