Great Intro to Yoga.
Several locations, visit them all (they are dramatically different in ambiance, classes, and CROWDS) to decide which is best for you. Take the Yoga 101, and dip into as many different classes as you can. My boyfriend and I prefer the unlimited monthly passes where we've tried every class and almost every instructor. Most establishments do not offer such a variety so take advantage of it; personalize your learning experience. You will find some places, classes, and instructors you will not like but others will provide you with exactly what you're looking for. Whether it is to simply rejuvinate and receive a little oil massage from the teacher, or to work muscles that you didn't even know where there...Yoga Tree is a wonderful addiction to health and harmony.

Too much focus on bringing in over capacity classes.
Too crowded and very unclean; they don't even seem to sweep once per day, much less in between classes. The place is gross, and better teachers have gone to other studios.

A San Francisco yoga empire that bends to every yogi's needs..
The Scene
With locations in Upper Haight, Mission and Hayes Valley, each branch reflects its neighborhood's distinct vibe, providing a clean, safe place to practice yoga. Evening and weekend classes at the Stanyan and Valencia studios tend to be crowded, sometimes too full, while the Hayes location is usually less packed.
The Workout
Each studio offers classes in a variety of styles to suit yogis of all levels. With extensive class schedules, including power flow, ashtanga, anusara, hatha, jivamukti, Iyengar, prenatal and restorative, classes vary tremendously depending on the instructor. For example, Rusty Wells' vigorous power flow class is filled with chanting and will leave you soaked, while James Higgins' power flow concentrates more on body awareness than constant movement. Stephanie Snyder's hatha flow emphasizes core strengthening and is taught in a heated room, so prepare to sweat. Each teacher is well-trained and truly dedicated to their practice, ensuring that every class is an excellent workout.

Amazing massage with Erin on Stanyan!.
I have had likely over 30-40 massages in SF. I have tried numerous spas and also psoas. Of those places I have often been relatively satisfied with the massages I had. Some were so so. But with Erin, I was happier. She used techniques that felt super good. Her energy was very positive and she genuinely seemed to care about her clients. Often one does not think of yoga tree as a place to get a massage, but it is.
I highly reccoment Erin over on Stanyan Street.

I TOTTALY AGREE WITH THE PREVIOUS NOTE: "If your a self-righteous, overindulgent consumer, this is the place for you. In the lobby, I heard much talk of meditation, peace, and love, but when the doors opened, these little corporate hippies of the man scrabbled and fought for space and mates. They were really only interested in tight buttocks and the honing a body to catch the guy with the wallet of their dreams".

Good beginner spot....
I enjoy Yoga tree as a drop in student. It's good for beginner's in order to learn proper breathing and if you are not looking for rigorous movements...
However, the classes are a bit overcrowded so do not expect any sort of one-on-one attention.
Namaste...
