Ask for Jillian, Goddess of Hair. damn..double damn..that's all I could say after Jillian of Edo Salon gave me the greatest haircut i've ever had. My hair has this tendency to go seventies on me and flip out at the bottom and heave up and down as I walk some stoner in that move Three O'Clock High about the heavy metal bully whos gonna beat up that mommas boy kid after school. Anyway, she reversed my flip- kep me metro yet not emasculated, retro yet now, flossin and flyin all over this bit part in a B movie.
Check this place out. I've always gotten my hair cut at places like Supercuts, but after being told about Edo by more than one of my friends, I decided to check it out. The cut was $50, but I didn't feel the slightest bit ripped off when I shelled out. There was great art on the walls, I was offered a drink when I checked in, the shampoo was awesome (and Lisa, the girl who shampoo'd me, was hot as hell!), my stylist (Kree) was very nice and attentive, and no one tried to force me to buy anything. I will definately be going there from now on.
Cozy, airy and effortlessly cute, this popular salon caters to those after a posh new 'do in a gorgeous atmosphere..
Nestled among the Lower Haight's infamous row of hip hair salons, this trendy spot's corner location is irresistibly chic and inviting. With its tall, elegant mirrors, comfy modern furniture and low-key gallery shows, it's one of the city's swankier places to get your locks chopped. The crew of stylists offers scissor and razor cuts, multitonal highlights and color, special event updo styles and human hair extensions. Onsite services for photo shoots and weddings are also available.
stylish at last!.
I just came from Edo and what a gem that place is!
My hair is still long, my bangs are perfect and my color is rich and glossy. My stylist seemed like she actually cared what my personal aesthetic was. I am from New York and have been frankly frightened to let any of the salons here touch my hair as I dont want to look like a trendy 20 something. Edo is like an airy style art studio and reminds me of brooklyn.
whew.... I found my place.
I love my new hair!. Thank god I found Jane at Edo! When I saw a girl on the street with really cute hair, I had to ask where she had it done. So, my hair is really difficult - different textures and my blonde always seems to turn yellow. Jane gave me the best shade of blonde I've ever had and I loved the razor cut she gave. My hair looks great every day and it has grown out beautifully. She gave me great styling tips as well, and taught me how to put my hair up. I'm sold, I won't go anywhere else!
MULLETS. Make sure you pick the right stylist. because some just don't listen and give you a hipper version of the mullet. It was the worst haircut that I received in SF and if you get a bad haircut, the customer service is to give you products, like that will help. Good luck growing your hair out...it will take at least a year for me to get it back to when I first walked in.
Let's hear it for Lonnie!. I had the opportunity to go to Lonnie to have my color done. I had been debating going darker, more towards my natural color, and I had an image in mind of how I wanted it to look. Lonnie more than delivered on that image, it was everything I wanted and then some. He's friendly and low key and, most importantly, explained step by step what would be done and the purpose for it. He brought out the color book and shared his ideas with me after listening to what I did and did not want. This was going to be a definite difference from how I had been looking but I never felt nervous. The compliments on my hair just keep coming! The salon is great with good music and original artwork on the walls done by their receptionist! Easy to get to.
Lonnie is Great!.
Lonnie Ferguson has cut my hair for the last 8 or 9 years. I met him in a salon on Telegraph Avenue. I saw the haircut he was giving someone else and said, "that looks really good." Ever since then . . . Finally I felt I could relax when I got a haircut -- it always looked good. When he has been unavailable, I show whoever is cutting my hair pictures of what Lonnie's haircuts look like.
I once told Lonnie he should have a talk show. Because when I am getting a haircut, I also enjoy the conversation. This is not something I have found with other stylists. Lonnie has lots of fascinating stories and he is a good listener, too.
At Edo I think Lonnie has found a salon worthy of his talents. It's a sunny, clean, and airy place, with nice art & lots of windows.
Happy at Edo. I know a lot of people say they think they have the best stylist, but let me tell you Rosette is amazing!!! She has been cutting my hair for 5 years and now that she is at Edo salon, I am even happier. The salon space is adorable colorful and spacious, with high ceilings, rotating artwork and cute girls without attitude! Rosette always takes the time to listen to what I want to do with my hair and is so creative. I always have random people compliment my haircut and its all thanks to Rosette. Haircutting is her specialty I know she will do a great cut on any type of hair. You know I highly recommend her at Edo salon!
my stylist moved salons!. Although I originally started at Edo because of the convienience, I quickly became hooked on Annika. She is truly amazing, and took the time to listen to what I wanted before jumping in. Color is her forte, and she did wonders with my brassy highlights. I'm glad I found her, and I plan to follow.
