4 years of hair compliments and counting!. April is my Wak Shack anniversary month, so to celebrate I thought I'd offer a review. For 4 years now I've had nothing but exceptional cuts and fantastic color here--the kind where women literally stop me on the street to find out where I get my hair done. Simon was my guy for years, but after he moved southward (LA ladies: find him now before he gets famous) I've taken up with Filomena. She is lovely to work with and such a skilled stylist. She listens to my ideas but applies her expertise so that the result suits my face shape and hair type. I've had to put color on hold for a while, but even on my lean budget cutting out Filomena is just not an option. (Pun intended!) My only note is that I do spend longer in the salon than I used to--close to an hour and a half all said and done. But it's a fair trade in my book for the awesome cut I know I'll walk out with.

Be Careful of Who You Ask For.... I would have given the wak shack five stars had it been on my past experience, however this week I went and was very disappointed. I had been in and seen Simon before he left the salon and was very satisfied and excited with how he did my hair. He recommended I go to Filomena or Kat after he left. I saw Filomena and I found her hair cutting very similar to Simon's, very specific to my hair, face shape and very meticulous. I left feeling very good about my haircut and myself. I went and saw Kat this week, and was unimpressed. Although she was very nice and easy to talk to, her technique was far below that of the other stylists I had seen. My hair is now too short and not in a style I particularly like. I can't wait for my hair to grow out, which is not the way I wished to feel leaving the salon. I wanted to leave wishing my hair wouldn't grow too fast so that it would look that good for a while, like I had on my previous visits.

I have never left here without a smile on my face!. I have never gotten anything but awesome haircuts here! I have been going here for a few years and have used Erin, Simon and Kendra and they have all done excellent jobs. I have given the most general of descriptions and they have always given me exactly what I wanted and then some. Sadly Simon, who was my most current hairdresser, is no longer there but I had the opportunity or working with Kendra and she rocks! I think that was the best hair cut I have ever got! Look no further this is the best place in San Francisco!

Best Hair in Town. I love this place. I travel from the East Bay to go here, which anyone who drives the Bay Bridge at 5pm knows how hard this can be, but it is definitely worth it. I have been going here for over 6 years now, and i have never had a bad experience here. Every stylist does quality work, is SUPER friendly, and knows what they are doing. They do amazing color, fabulous extensions, and the best Updo's around. Many of my friends have gone here to get their wedding hair done, as well as their entire bridal party. I even got my boyfriend hooked on this place. Very relaxing atmosphere, as well as kick butt music, and you'll get the best haircut of your life. Come check out this place. Its the bees knees!

I cried after my hair cut. I explained to the man what I wanted very thoroughly and he reassured me that he would give me a cool, hip cut. I left with a hair cut that looked exactly the same as when I came but shorter. Very disappointed.
