best hair.
i did it and i feel so dirty, but i look fantastic!! after 10 years with my hairdresser (whom i loved and swore was the best) i cheated on her with another stylist. do i feel guilty? yes. was it worth it? many times, yes.
i don't care who does your hair now. dump them and run straight into the chair of the sublimely talented TARA.
send your old stylist a bunch of flowers with thanks for the good times you shared and move on. tara's nimble and talented scissors will make your old stylist's work look like it was done with meat cleavers.
Fast, inexpensive hair salon. Zip Zap is great, love the atmosphere and the decor. Everyone in there is uber friendly. Mike's cut my hair twice now - both times I was in and out in under 30 minutes and my hair looked great! It's very reasonably priced compared to the shee shee salons. And you don't have to wait 6 months to get an appointment!
Tresses are treated to daring 'dos and experienced stylists at this funky, boldly decorated neighborhood salon..
In Short
With highly textured walls done up in fiery shades of metallic paint, gold mirrors and, occasionally, local artwork, this Lower Haight destination for hair therapy resembles a practicing artist's street-level, live-work loft. The stylists, several of whom have been at the salon for many years, are known for administering moderately priced, creative cuts, highlights and color that manage to be hip without bowing to the latest hair fads. Walk-ins are welcome.
MUST SEE MONICA FOR YOUR COLOR. I have been going to Monica for over a year for my color... I have gone to a million colorist and finally found Monica-I felt very grateful!!! If your a blonde and your looking for a fantastic colorist for Blonde hair-PLEASE see Monica-she's the best. She knows her stuff and you will walk out a happy camper as well looking great!!!!
Jeni is the best. I'm just come to this country a year ago and for 1 year I'm never got hair cut because so scared to try new place or person who gonna cut my hair. My husband told me to try Zip Zap and I'm try looking for review about this place, finally i'm make an appointment and they give me Jeni...I came and she did a great job for my hair, and she can understand my face and the result so great....thanks Jeni...now I got new place and new girl for take care my hair....
Bad Stylist - don't know what they are doing.
Went their for the first time last week to have my haircut. Although the stylist was nice and seem like she knew what I wanted, I ended up with a terrible haircut. When I made the appointment, I explained I needed someone who really knew how to cut fine hair. Half-way through styling my hair the stylist could tell I was not happy, it look like some kind of white trash cut, so what does she do, chops away at it more.
Now everyday, I have to use a curling iron on my short hair to cover up the bad job. It will be at least six months before I can do anything with it. I just about want to cry. I will never go there again. Why are their so many bad stylists in SF?
I can't say I was impressed with any of the other cuts that were being done by the other stylists.
Best Color. I've been going to Paul for years - I tried a zillion places and he does the best no nonsense reliable great color.
JAMES IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!.
I have tried others BUT james, YOU made me look GREAT!
so nice, and had great ideas!
Thanks James!!!
James' Rocks!. I had been having trouble finding someone to give me great highlights, and becoming frustrated always winding up with brassy streaks. A friend recomended James at ZipZap. I was a little reluctant, since I have had so many horrible experiences. I made the appointment and I have never made a better decision. My hair color is gorgeous, It's been 3 weeks and still looks great. On top of being a wonderful colorist, he has a great personality AND you get a complimentary haircut with your first set of highlights!
I used to go to DiPietro Todd. But I get the same quality haircut for half theprice from Tara at Zip Zap. It isn't as self important as other salons, but I really like thi s plce.
