Enchanting and Comfortable.
Eat, sleep, interact and communicate. A place combining the elements of a peaceful livelihood, the Red Vic Peace Center offers its guests a place to enjoy the art of its in-house artist and founder, Sami Sunchild, to gather with like-minded folks from around the world, to enjoy a meal, and to experience the living landmark in one of the most dynamic and influential areas of San Francisco: the Haight!
I would definitely recommend this establishment to a friend...or a stranger!

Fun and funky.
Nestled in the heart of Haight Ashbury, this hotel has managed to keep a torch lit for the days of peace, love, and long hair. Definitely fun and funky.

Groovy hippie B&B.
The rooms are unique, as are the shared bathrooms. Each individually crafted. There was a problem with one of the toilets in a shared bathroom being clogged, which was TOTALLY gross. Some rooms have their own bathrooms. I enjoyed the breakfast round table discussion with the owner and other guests, but discussions were one-sided and opinionated. The common area is relaxing and peaceful. Too bad Haight Street is such a haven for scam artists and dealers anymore. The history of this beautiful building is interesting, as well as the proprietor's history.

Peace, love and tie-dye at this affordable B&B with a hippie vibe..
In Short
For a true San Francisco experience, reserve the Summer of Love Room, where the bed is draped with a tie-dyed canopy and tangerine-colored walls are adorned with authentic '60s-era posters--there's a lava lamp as well. From the Skylight Room and the Redwood Forest Room to the Flower Child Room and Japanese Tea Garden Room, each space has a unique decor and theme. Most have in-room sinks; bathrooms are shared. A continental breakfast buffet is included in the room rate.
