In Short – Since the early '80s, Gamescape has provided hard-core gamers with everything they require to lose themselves in play. Chess fans can choose from a basic magnetic traveling board or a carved set featuring "Alice in Wonderland" characters. There are tiny metal monsters and warrior figures to populate the role-playing games carried, high-end jigsaw puzzles that transform into games as they're completed, dart supplies, bingo sets, backgammon boards, tarot cards and more.
No Tech. Great selection.

My kids and I discover great games here, games that we all play or take with us on vacation or teach us stuff. The staff is supportive. The selection engaging. I hate to shop. But, I love Gamescape.

Great gaming shop in San Francisco! From Checkers to Warhammer 40K. This a great shop for the hobbiest. Wide range of paints and hobby supplies available. Staff was helpful and polite.
Downside is the parking. Parking seems best on weekends.

Excellent service and knowledge about games. Nice and relaxed, Harry Potterish sort of ambiance. It is great that these kind of stores still exist.
The Details on Gamescape
Know Before You Go:
The stock is 100-percent old-fashioned board, card and role-playing games. It doesn't stock computer games, so don't ask.
Save Time:
Inhabitants of the outer reaches of the Bay Area should know that Gamescape has a branche in San Rafael.
Look Good:
Ask to see the $1,000 imported Go set. It's a foot thick, made of a single slab of wood, and makes a special sound when a piece is properly set down.
