Friendly staff, great selection, can't be beat

Got my bike tailor-fitted to my style: road commuting with occasional ventures into the coastal mountains. This is the shop I always go to for advice or just to chat about bikes in general. Great location right by Haight and

Golden Gate Park. Awesome selection!

Incredible shop!

I just recently bought my second bike from American cyclery (though I bought my first one at the sister store, american too), a specialized roubaix. I bought it under the advice of the sales staff whom I quickly trusted more than two years ago in search of my first bike, and have been continually nurturing and monitoring my growth as a cyclist. Really, finding this shop changed my life - they took my needs and potential seriously, and I have proved to them, and to myself, that I far exceeded what I ever thought I was capable of. I will continue to put my trust in these incredibly friendly individuals, and I will continue to seek advice and service when it's time.

• Pros: Top notch service, friendly expert staff
• Cons: Parking's tough for cars, can be busy at times.

They had exactly what I didn't know I wanted. Go to them if you need some help, or just to shoot the breeze.

They also have tons of rare and vintage gear.
