Handsome gastropub, perfect for an impromptu dinner, but also makes for a killer brunch. Famous for its fried chicken, burger, and fantastic range of house-brewed beers!
Happy hour wasn't so happy. After reading the rave reviews on city search I decided to give it a try during their happy hour. I was somewhat disappointed to find out that there were only 6 featured beers on tap. I am an amber beer lover and they did have that on the selection so I was pleased. Not only were they out of beer selectoin, they were also out of a couple food menu items. This made it difficult to find something appealing on such a short menu to begin with. I am not that picky so I managed. I was suprised to find out that citysearch missed informed me that they served $2.50 20 0z pints for happy hour when indeed it was $4.00 pints. I could of got a better deal with better food somewhere else along the avenue.
Go for the beer...stay for the ale.
Magnolia's serves some of the best cask conditioned ales in town. If you like yours colder and more carbonated; they have a version that's sure to please.
The food is good enough to make the finickiest eater happy. Actually the food is quite stylish for a pub. The place is small, noisy and crowded as any good local pub should be!
The funky artwork and tableside masterpieces lend a unique vibe to this Haight haunt.
The Sarah's Ruby Mild is highly recommended and if you live within the bay area you have to check this place out.
Brunch & Beer :). This isn't touted as a Bruch location, but the weekend specials menu is SO good! Spring pea, asparagus and spinach scramble... knock your sox off good! Fresh, Fresh, Fresh... is all I have to say about everything! The hash leaves a bit to be desired by us Irish traditionalists. But absolutely everything else was plate-licking good! :) We went back for brunch on Sunday just for the Bacon... yes it is that good! The service is brisk, but friendly and remember to put your name in at the bar as soon as you walk in the door, this is not a "grab an empty table" sort of place. The beer selection is a sight to be seen... enjoy! :)
You better like The Dead.... I love Magnolia's sustainable agriculture cuisine and laidback approach. Sadly, I'm not a beer fan, so I couldn't take advantage of the remarkable selection of brews. If you love beer, jam bands, and american cuisine, I can definitely recommend Magnolia, a welcome fixture in The Haight.
Great Beer on Haight. The Magnolia has great beer and really good food. Every beer and meal I have had has been terrific. The only negative is a slightly indifferent serving staff.
Mags is Great!. The most comfortable pub in the ciity to kick back and enjoy a piint and some delicious food. Tuesday's are great for $2.50 pints, you really can't go wrong with that, especially the cute bartender that works Tuesday nigths. Come for the beer, stay for the food and the service.
Go...go NOW!!. agnolias Stout of Circumstance may be the very best beer in The States. Yeah, you heard me, in all of the great ol USofA. Its dark, rich, and smooth, served at the perfect temperature in a stout glass that allows its magnificent head to formand most importantly it is brewed there on premises and always on tap (not a seasonal concoction). I urge you to get there ASAP, before the news spreads of this liquid bliss and the line to get in the joint stretches all the way down HaightRUN!!!
great brew with friends place. sit bake and have a couple of house brews with friends . great haight atmophere .
where everybody knows your name.... Magnolia's is one of my favorite pubs in SF. The friendly service is one of a kind and nothing beats the home brewed beer. Love the catchy names and their taste in music is most excellent. food's not bad either! go there for happy hour!
